Are there any perks to being in the club besides the blue name? Or is this club just recognition for the helpful contributors to the forums?

Aside from the custom sig images and skins for Youtube/Twitter channels, no, not really. It's more about recognition for frequent contributors than anything else.
However, I was promised that SerB would personally attend my birthday party dressed up like a clown tank, though I think Sly might've been joking when he said that...
