For some reason, and I don't mean to blame anyone or any feature of the game for this, but I rarely win when I platoon, and I rarely lose when I solo. Is this the case for anyone, or the opposite? Is it just me, or is there actually something in the machine....

1. Are you sealclubbing when solo?

2. Are you platooning with randoms?

3. Are you in the matrix?

My uncle (who plays PC) and I (who plays both) have a theory that WG PURPOSLY puts you on a winning streak, then on an awfull loss streak. Think about it... Just when you think teams can suck NO MORE, you pull out a 7-0 win or a pools or somethin.

explain DQ, Nuke, and a few russians... I have seen that theory where you can't seem to go past a certain point on PC (around 65% WR), it seems like the MM will make sure everyone fits in the bell curve and there's no crazy outliers

I seem to see more platoons when I'm in a platoon. Playing last night in a toon I got matched against the same platoon 6 times in a row, unfortunately for them. I could see how that could be a problem tho if your constantly getting matched against a toon with 2 unicorns. (I'm no slouch)  That being said, my stats are consistent regardless of my platoon rate.

This is an interesting thread tho, cuz when I'm playing in a toon and we run across another good toon we'll either wait b4 hitting the battle button in hopes that they already entered a battle or hit it quick to get in a battle b4 they get back in so as to avoid playing them again. This is especially true if I get matched against clan mates. We'll even go so far as to change tiers to avoid them. It'd be nice if war gaming disclosed their matchmaking protocols with regards to platoons.

I have gone through this.  Had a great run for about two weeks.  Then wam bam one hell of a losing streak.  It has happen several times to me.  Nothing I try helps and teams really go to hell.

Platooning doesn't seem to work for me either. I seem to lose more or end up about the same. I think it's because I get distracted by what my platoon mate is doing and don't play as well, or I feel obligated to follow his lead when it's not where I would normally go.

It does seem like that sometimes but I think it's all about me. If I'm focused I win a lot more, if I have other things on my mind or I'm frustrated by bad players I lose more.

Winning streak - When you're winning you are happy, more relaxed, less anxious, clear headed so you play better.

Losing Streak - When losing you're tense, frustrated, focused on blaming others for losses, so you lose more.

I was going on a down slide for about 3 days. Little time to play so at loss 5 at anytime i would park the tanks and be done. Went on a business trip maybe got in two or so games a day wins. Then a one week trip zero games came back and im on the up!

Platoon are no longer provided the win. I lose in Platoon more often than soloing.

It's kind of weird you know. Soloing also lose but I win a lot more than platoon.

I think there must be something with 1.11 that WG didn't tell us? Never have something like this before.

While playing solo, in some tank i rock, but in some other, i just keep lossing, and when tooning, is the same effect, but viceversa, in some tanks i suck while tooning, and in other tanks i can do win streaks of 10+

I only platoon with people I've known for a long long time. And that's one person. And we win like crazy. There is something to be said about rusting and knowing the other persons play. Trusting they know the game as well as you do if not more. I'm not good enough to platoon with anyone else yet either. I'd feel like I let someone down randomly. But if Unicums are on my team we clean up. If in a platoon we beat some really great platoons. Even with failtoons back in the day lol. Trust communication and being at your best platooning or not. You gotta be a team player as much as you can.

Just means you're platooning with the wrong people.

Could also mean that you're playing at too high a tier for you and your toonmate when you platoon, or that you're grinding stock tanks when you platoon. A platoon is more likely to fight against a platoon on the other team, so if you're tooning in tier VI tanks, you'll often see a higher-tiered platoon (it's not possible for a tier VI toon to beat an IS-6 toon whose drivers are over age 4).

tl;dr platoon with good players at tier 3, 4, and 7-10. Avoid bad players, bad tiers, and stock tanks.

They already have.  The matchmaker attempts to place an equal number of platoons on each team, if possible.  So that's why when you platoon, you are much more likely to see a platoon on the red team than when you're playing solo.
