I wanted to welcome 774th_Blackcat_Ramagen to the TS platooning.  I got to play a handful of T29 platoons with him yesterday to good effect and fun.  He goes by Seven.  (If you have any curiousity at all about how an authentic Boston accent sounds team up with him in TS.)  :)  I think he teamed up with Mast after I had to go.

True. We started out by being absolute rubbish, but redeemed ourselves later on.

I sense an e3 in your future.

I hear and obey.

Though I will continue to play them all toward T10 I am guessing it is E3, E 50m and either E5 or E 100.  I like the Jagdtiger a lot because the gun is a laser, but the E 50M will do that.  I am not sneaky enough to excel at the Obj. 268 I think.  I can't decide about the E5/E 100 thing.  In practice though I tend to do better with and like some tanks better and they level faster.  I don't know which tanks those are until they are all upgraded and I am playing them though.  The T9 upgrades on some of the tanks are killers.  It's interesting that that the terrible upgrade tank hits at different tiers on different lines.  A couple of them are definitely T9, where the upgrades take as much as the initial cost of the tank.

Eh guys- holy cow we had some movement in here in the last couple hours.

A quick note... we've got a foot of snow on the ground and I think someone crashed into a power pole. Knocked the power out here for a bit and dropped TS3 so if you were having trouble connecting that's why. It's back up and running again now.

@HerrOverlord, I do much the same thing at start. I'll check the opposition, and if I think I might have trouble penning someone I might meet early, in goes the Gold. The trouble with this is my short attention span, and I'll forget to load regular after that and burn through any profit I might make by continuously shooting premium. :-/

When I am grinding credits (most of the time recently) I get rid of the premium ammo because otherwise I am way too tempted to use it, and yup, sure enough there goes all the profits.

I have tried a bunch of different load outs from no gold to all gold.  What I have noticed over time is that I rarely shoot more than 10 shots or so in a game.  I see people with amazing games that have twice as many shots, but that is not me.  This means that a full gold load out for me is about 10.  Depending on ammo capacity I now run 10 gold/10 HE and the remaining AP.   With smaller ammo capacity tanks I just lower those amounts, but keep the ratios.  I found that running premium ammo was negatively effecting my game in many ways.  I will now very occasionally load it if I want to try to dig someone out and have no options other than an impenetrable front plate.  This is very rare I find unless I have just become fixated.  Typically I will switch to HE first in order to harass them, mess up their modules and do occasional damage.  I have taken out T10 heavies just whittling at them with HE until they move so I get a better shot.

On the other hand I now also assume that everyone is likely to be shooting premium at me and sometimes even manage to play accordingly.  The rumor is that 1.4 will nerf both the effectiveness and cost of premium.  If true the having come to rely on premium ammo at that point might be a real problem.

I have a related question.  Sometimes in snipe view with my reticle and dispersal circle fully on a target, aim settled in, I get no red outline or armor information.  Shots will usually hit and often pen even though the UI is telling me I have no shot.  Anyone else get this or know what is happening there?

Well guys, we have another strong player in Triarii.  HerrOverlord and I just went 7-1 with each consistent 2.5k+ scores.  His first time on TS3, I tried as best I could to introduce the tools... he is a quick learner and a damn good player in his Russian heavies.  I'm simply speechless that I've found another guy in two days that can tolerate my playing style.  Life is good and the beat goes on!   As for premium ammo, I use but do not abuse - only when in position and have the shot but can not penetrate.  I load with 10% HE, 30% HEAT/APCR, and 60% unleaded regular.  Concep scored an 8K+ game today... and ran out of ammo, simply amazing!

@Doc - thank you for the introduction to TS3 and platooning all at once - what great fun!  We had a nice little run and ran into a couple of other really good platoons and even in death, took enough HP that our team still won.  Lots to learn and you are a great teacher.  I look forward to more runs in the future.

@Str8Up - good to speak briefly with you - congrats on the new purchase!

If you haven't do so yet, you really should give TS3 a try.  With 3200 solo games behind me, platooning while on TS3 changes everything (as has been said here many time before).  As if I did not already have "an issue" (to quote CINC-House) with this game, platooning/TS3 just turned the dial to 12!

Ok guys, maybe I should know this but, is premium ammo the same as the APCR?

In many tanks yes- though some others have HEAT rounds in their place. We call them gold rounds as well

We call them gold as they are paid for with gold- but when you buy them you can switch the purchase method to credits instead.

Wow, just had my first platoon run with HerrOverlord, how much fun that was.  Not the greatest but fun nonetheless.  Thanks HerrOverlord for letting me drag you down.

Naktl:  Thanks for the welcome and thanks to Mastrap and all the others I’ve played with. Great clan, great game and the best Forum by far .

For those new to the game, (like me) you do not need drive top-level tanks or be a pro. Just join up get TS3 and It will change your game. I’d be glad to platoon with anyone at any level. My heaviest is a T29  VII but we can always learn and have a ball with III’s and IV’s (I sold my I's an II’s)

You may need a translator with my accent, but remember we Bostonians spoke English before the rest of you J

7 -- is a lot easier to say on TS3 than my full screen name.

Hi fellow Triarii Clan,

Due to the fact that I had a Wargaming account prior to downloading and installing WOT Blitz, you may have recently seen posts by me under Stratman49. Stupid me, when I created my account for WOT Blitz, I used Gamecenter and tried to use Stratman49 and the system wouldn't let me. So instead I created a username Stratman49_2014 as of course, Stratman49 was already taken! ( by me!).

I contacted Wargaming support and asked them to fix this but all they could offer me was the chance to change my username and pay them 2500 gold! I'm already paying them to play this game! Crazy!

Long story short, if you look for me in battle, I will be under Stratman49_2014!

Tally Ho!
