Gonna have to try TS3 myself. I've heard it's buggy on ipad. Any feedback or guidelines from Ipad users out there? Or if there is a thread on this already, let me know.

Thanks!

And now for your enjoyment, some Roman proverbs and quotes related to our little hobby. Some of the Triarii clan may already be using these on their banners.

Proverbs of the time

"Deos fortioribus adesse."  - Meaning "The gods are on the side of the stronger", translate it to mean you should make your own fortune.
"Festina lente" - "Make haste slowly".  Simply put, make sure to plan even when you need to act quickly.
"Una salus victis nullam sperare salutem."  - "The one well being of the defeated is to not hope for well being."  By Virgil, this particular proverb means if your defeated, hope you don't live long..
"Si vis pacem, para bellum." This one is a little after the Roman Republic, but still good stuff, from Flavius Vegetius Renatus.  It means "If you wish for peace, prepare for war."
"Carpe Deim" - Obviously quite familiar, Horace said this, meaning "seize the day", imploring that when the time is right, take action.
"Murum aries attigit" - "The ram has touched the wall."  Romans had the policy that held that once an assault has begun, accept no mercy or quarter.  The ram touching the wall referred to the battering ram in an assault.  Take it to mean "Grant no mercy!"
"Quemadmoeum gladis nemeinum occidit, occidentis telum est"  - By Seneca (he was a big provider of quotes and proverbs), it means "a sword is never a killer, it is a tool in a killer's hand".  Simply enough, it is the Roman version of "people kill people, not gun's kill people".
"Malum consilium quod mutari non potest"  This is another quote which I have taken from after Rome's republic, though very good.  It means "It is a bad plan that can't be changed".
"Flamma fumo est proxima." - "Where there is smoke, there is fire". or literally, "Flame follows smoke".

Famous Quotes of The Time

"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori" - by Horace, meaning "It is a sweet and seemly thing to die for ones country".
"Veni, vidi, vici." - "I came, I saw, I conquered".  It seems a bit like bragging, spoken by Gaius Julius Caesar
"Nos morituri te salutant!"  -  "We, who are about to die, salute you".  Used by gladiators about to enter battle when speaking to the Roman emperor.  Frankly my comment would be a bit more virulent, but evidently the gladiators of the time were good sports.  There is no direct person to credit for this quote.
"Alea iacta est." - "The die is cast".  Contributed to Gaius Julius Caesar as he cross the rubicon during his bid for emporership of Rome.

Use an iPad Air with 16Gb of storage and have no problems with running Blitz and TS3 at the same time.  Since I use headphones with mic, I rotate the iPad by 180 to place the jack top right rather than bottom left. For those looking for headphones, I researched and found the Logitech 4000UE specifically for iPad - about $28 at Amazon.  I'd post the link, but it is very long.  The sound is fantastic with incredible bass and the mic is more than sensitive enough, just ask the other guys...  BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Thanks Doc Wylde!

I've been playing WOT Blitz on a second gen Ipad Mini and it runs pretty smooth. Gonna download TS3 and give it a try.

I am often playing later in the evening most weeknights, after kids go to bed and wife is falling asleep on the couch. I am east coast USA, usually around 9:30PM or 10PM for 6 or 8 games. Are any of you guys playing then?

Willing to platoon without TS3 for a bit? I have only tried a little platooning with Spekulatius so far, would like to try more. TS3 sounds fun but I would have to hole myself up somewhere. Have to figure that out.

The TS3 servers are normally starting to hop right around 9PM with everyone jumping on so you will be sure to find some people to platoon with at this time!

Runs very smooth on my iPad Mini.  I know the reviews of it are bad but I can't really figure out why based on the way it runs for me.

I haven't tried TS3 but my iPad2 seems to run pretty well now despite a few hiccups after the upgrade.

To all the new guys, welcome! And don't be shy about adding me as a friend in-game. This thread can move really fast (and I have a pretty massively scrambled scatterbrain from time to time), so apologies for not saying "hi" earlier.

Great. Oh, forgot to mention I am running Tier7 T20 medium, Tier6 VK36.01 and some Tier5's (SU-85 and VK30.01). Days away from the Tiger I. Does that work?

tcamp48 - nope, this is all ipad for the actual platoon setup. I saw someone post that TS3 could run off anything else with correct app (your ipad, a PC, etc.) as the TS3 server doesn't care.

Thanks Guderian, much appreciated!

Watcher you sound like you would be another fine addition to our clan. I know if you need/want any tips for American heavies there are plenty of us in here who play or have played them a lot.

Welcome Watcher777!  This is a great place to play, learn, and improve your game.  Recommend the nightly, East Coast Time, Gladiator Fest with TS3.  Some of us understand your aches and pains as we have our own in abundance.  Sometimes we're hot, sometimes we're not.  Don't be shy... the beat goes on.

Hey guys, I've followed this thread for quite some time and has become a favored place to listen and learn. I'm an average player who loves Blitz, and I'd like to improve. I play my T34 and T 29 mostly. My arthritis in my hands makes playing mediums and lights a bit challenging, heavies move more at my speed. @ 56 years old I think I'm a good candidate and would like to be apart of your clan. I couldn't find an official thread in the clan section so I made my request known here. Either way thanks for your consideration.

Welcome to the greatest group on Bitz

To all the new recruits feel free to add me to your platoon lists, please note that I still do not have TS3 yet. It is not a problem what tier you want to play. As of right now I run US heavys up to M6 and soon to add the T29. Otherwise I can go to tier 10 in US mediums.

I just earned the M48 Patton this am and have all of one battle in it. I am looking forward to earning enough experience to get the big gun and learn the limits of the tank. Btw I love the US medium line, although after my run through US heavys I will explore the Russian mediums. They appear to be even faster.

To all our Triari brethren,( and Vinylbeats, if that term is gender specific) I look forward to meeting you on the battlefield and on this thread.

To Eno, all of us owe you a great deal of thanks for starting the Triari and always being there for this group through guidance and counsel, as well as technical guru. Thank you again. Count me in for future clan warfare.

So... with the sale going on this weekend, I'll have enough credits to get my Pershing.... 30 minutes to go and I can get it. ** damn I'm off a day.... have to wait till tomorrow then.

Also got the big gun on the KV-1S last night.  didn't play it much until today... It's a beast.  Have to get used to the reload time but man it packs a punch.
