Gents: A report from the Front Lines....
First, thanks to those of you who were kind enough to platoon and help with my stock M46. My level of contribution to the team was essentially ranked between "boat anchor" and "useless".
Second, a few observations. The M46 is rather less than intimidating when mostly stock and in my hands. I have ground all preceding US mediums to 50% plus and generally view myself as a medium driver. That being said, I have thus far been grossly incompetent in this thing. My Pershing tactics are useless, this turret is penned by harsh language. T20 style? Nope, tried that, too slow and the Russian Race Cars will win that every time.
I have been killed in this thing with stunning regularity. Got COD by a team of Comets. Got COD by T62. Got COD by IS7- yes an IS7! Couldn't turn my turret fast enough once tracked to even hit him. Then... The Coup d' Grace... COD by T54/54 platoon back to back... to back... to back.
Put the smoking wreckage in the garage and contemplated some options.... mostly rage-induced ones.
In the end... I took the capitalist point of view. Wargaming got 20 bucks and the steaming pile is now a fully upgraded M46. So now, the only thing wrong with it is the idiot in the drivers seat.
Now I no longer will have the "stock tank" excuse. It is currently sitting in the back of the garage, under a cover, with a trickle charger hooked up. All I need now is motivation...
See you out there. Probably not in the Patton... Yet.
Regards, SCH
