Now this is no problem.  Is there any other kind??

I keep hearing something about AP, HE and HEAT but beats the heck out of me what they're talking about ........ as my signature says

I mean I know what the Associated Press is, and being born and raised in Florida I understand HEAT, HE not so much, what I don't understand is what they have to do with tank ammo

Yeah, I was confused about that too, but once I found out I could buy "Gold" ammo with silver, I stopped worrying about it.

Yes, and back when we had global battle chat, I loved when people said, "gold spammer!" I would always say, "nope, spamming gold rounds with silver." Cheapened it by quite a bit haha

I just said, "thank you for noticing, was hoping Team Red would appreciate my thoughtfulness of giving the gift of gold" Now I didn't say that in game, but garage chat

Tank Trivia for today:

Next week my wife and I are traveling to the birthplace of the Pz 35(t) and the Pz 38(t).  Which country is that?

Wow, that was fast...and accurate.  That was either a very soft ball, or you really know your tanks!

I am going to be away from the campfire and the battlefield for a couple of weeks, traveling on vacation.  I have stocked up a wild animal proof box with chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers, to keep you all well supplied with S'mores.  The box is designed to keep out Leopards, Panthers and Tigers...not sure about Löwes?

Be safe and deadly on the battlefield.  See you in a couple of weeks.

To the Spud collective,

which tank line should I grind next- I leaning toward japanese (mediums, but that is obvious). Any suggestions, I am kinda looking for gun depression over armor, I have always preferred dodging bullets over deflecting them- and gun dep makes that easier.

I usually play mediums, and I believe I am to tier 5 in nearly every line (I'm not planning on taking any TD lines any farther than tier 5, except for my su-152 :)  ;)

Thanks for any thoughts

You've already got the T-62A so you know Soviets don't care for gun depression and ze Germans aren't known for embracing it either. So I won't bother with those. So. Medium lines I'd recommend based on your desires in no particular order because potato:

The Japanese line is interesting. But it only really becomes worthy at tier VIII with the STA-1. The lower tier tanks just don't feel all that special or competitive to me, but YMMV. Type 61 is a wannabe M46 Patton with a wart on its turret and it just generally isn't as good as the M46 Patton. It was Japan's stop gap solution to a lighter weight M46/47 design when the deal with the U.S. fell through after the war. This bought them some time to develop the STB designs with the STB-1 being featured here in Blitz. STB-1 has a punchy gun with solid depression and a well sloped turret mated to a very maneuverable chassis making it a great ridge line and hill fighter. Good line if you want a solid tier X medium and don't mind selling off that majority of the tanks along the way.

Speaking of the M46, I think you'd enjoy continuing up that line as well. There aren't any real duds in the line and you'll likely want to keep most or even all of them. (Unlike the Japanese line where all I kept is the STA-1 and STB-1. That's it.) In fact, I'd recommend this line as my top pick overall.  Good all around mediums that do everything well throughout the line. Only real weakness is that they're tyically extra soft in the rear. But if you're playing them right, that shouldn't be much of an issue.

Continuing up the British medium line beyond the Comet gets interesting in a similar way that the Japanese line does: great guns with solid depression values mounted on agile chassis, but the armor is generally less than reliable. In fact, moving on from the Comet to the Centurion will take a good deal of adjusting too. It's slower, much bigger and not armored well at all. It needs to be played with much more care than its predecessor. This tank is typically everyone's least favorite in the line, myself included. The Centurion 7/1 and FV 4202 continue along that trend of being support tanks but can be very dangerous if played properly due to the availability of HESH rounds once one gains the Centurion 7/1's too gun.

Just my 2¢. Hope this helps a little bit.

Fredstash I actually love playing the Japanese tanks. I'm not fantastic in them but there is something I really like about 'em.
