I can say that this sort of thing is simply between the company involved and the clan that is being sponsored. Wargaming does not have any fingers in this. We won't be changing any in game or official site assets to accommodate a sponsored clan.

In short, This is between the Clan and the company doing the sponsoring, Wargaming is not in the equation.

More Q/A:

1.  While I am not the final deciding factor, I could see professional graphics designs or clan artwork as a reasonable expense.  That may be situational and the company may not support certain images or artwork.  Tread carefully.

2.  I wouldn't recommend changing your clan name to match the sponsor name.  That might constitute as advertising in game.

More Q/A:

1.  Someone in the clan needs to be 18 for this to work (probably should have mentioned that up front).  There needs to be a designated spokesperson to actually receive the sponsorship.  I have not verified if this would work under 18, but it might be a legal mess.  And I'm pretty sure if it's a big hassle, I'm going to have a hard time pleading your case.  Try to help keep it simple.  Gift cards are simple, for example.

2.  No, you cannot attend the budget meeting.  Even via phone conference.  Sorry.

EDIT:  If the 'being 18' thing is a big deal, I'm open to other options.  It's an assumption on my part that it wouldn't work.  I can ask if you'd like, or perhaps someone on here can chime in with their thoughts.

3.  No, you cannot attend a meeting prior to the budget meeting.  Again, sorry.

More Q/A:

1.  I think it's best if the application comes from the clan leadership (like the commander or deputy or both, etc.), it just looks more serious.  However, there is probably nothing wrong with designating a clan spokesperson to complete the process.  I would need some sort of assurance from the clan commander if that is the case.

2.  US Dollars only.

More Q/A:

 1.  I'm going to go out on a limb and say energy drinks probably wouldn't qualify as a reasonable expense.

2.  Try to approach it as a "Here's how I would put your sponsorship money to good use" rather than "Yay!  Free Money!".    That's another reason to suggest contests and shared things (teamspeak, website) rather than suggest a free IS-6 to all clan members.

3.  The total amount has been decided, however, it has not been decided how that will be applied.  Most likely a monthly thing, I would guess, but it's optional.  It probably depends a lot on how the clan plans to use the money.  I can probably guess the next question, but I'll wait for it.

After a lot of questions, I'll post a sample application below.  Please keep in mind this is just made up, but should help to answer many questions.  I would encourage creativity though, anything is possible.  This is only a simple response.

Hello - my name is John Doe and I am the deputy commander of [ABCD] clan and we would like to be considered for the clan sponsorship currently being offered.  We are a well established clan, with many member very active in the WOTB community.  Currently our roster is 45 members strong, with 9 of our members ranked in the top 5%.  We're very competitive, but keep it clean as we also have younger members.

We contribute to the WOTB community by authoring player guides for new tanks (5 created to date), answering questions on the forums from newer players, and regularly platoon with others to mentor.  We even have a sister clan we compete with regularly, it's a lot of fun.

If awarded the sponsorship, we would use initial funds to upgrade our current website ($45) and purchase video editing software ($60) to help create guides and show off our stellar gameplay.  I would also like to host contests twice per month, usually awarding a prize valued around $50.  Possibly a new tank or gold (in game currency).  We may also consider gaming hardware like headphone/mic combos or something similar.  We already have a teamspeak server but it has an on going monthly maintenance cost of $10.  In total, I think we could work out of a monthly budget of $150 or however you'd like to do it.  This would be managed by our clan commander.

In return, we plan to draft a "thank you" document from everyone in our clan, personally signed by our clan commander.  Something nice you may even consider hanging on the wall at your office.  We also plan to send 'clan update' letters to let you know how we're doing in clan wars as well as some recent contest winners.  We also plan to place your logo and website link at the bottom of our clan website home page for all to see.

We appreciate you doing this and hope you consider our clan for sponsorship.  We are one of the original clans formed before WG officially added clans.  So as you can see, we are serious and plan to do well when clan wars comes out.

For further information or questions our clan commander can be reached directly at xxxxx@email.com.  Thanks again!

Well Trarii signed a deal with AARP and we have website sponsorship.

We we also have an over 55+ gladiator night where we change all clan tags to AARP and stream on their website.

So your idea isn't far off, we just broke ground on our website sponsor to have a site for 3 years and a payout for redirected traffic to their promotions.

More Q/A:

1.  This currently only extends to WOTB clans and not to other WG titles.  Keep in mind this sponsorship is about the clan and not WG.

2.  You're welcome to submit a "draft" if you'd like, and if I have time I'll even provide some feedback.  Please make it clear that it is only a draft and not a final application.  And you'll then need to submit a final.

3.  Your clan doesn't need to have stellar stats to be considered.  Good numbers are always a plus, but there are many other attributes you can highlight if you'd like.  I only lightly mentioned WR in the sample app above.

4.  Please do not be offended if I return your application.  It is most likely lacking something that I'll try to point out in the email.  You're welcome to revise and resubmit.  Keep in mind I only have a limited time to explain the clans to the committee, most likely only a couple of minutes each.  So it's unfair to the serious applicants to misuse any of this time.

More Q/A:

1.  The reason for the application process is because this opportunity is available equally to all clans.  It's up to the individual clan to explain why they deserve the sponsorship and how they would use it.   I know this isn't exactly how other sponsorships work, however it would be a bit unfair for me to hand pick a few clans to present.  This way the clan can "earn" their sponsorship based on how much effort they would like to put into their application.

2.  Some of you are a bit more sneaky than others and already know which company is the sponsor.  Please refrain from posting this,  I don't want to ruin it for everyone.  If your clan would like to know more about the sponsor, please PM me and I would be happy to share details.  Again, please keep that information out of the forums.
