As im nearing the end of my time with the M46 I gathered a few questions I was wondering about

 

•I heard the M46 is a much better tank then the M48, is this true? (Considering speed, armor?, and gun capabilities)

 

•is the M48 considered mediocre compared to the other tier 10 meds? As I dont want to spend 6 mil for a mediocre tier 10

 

•Is the M48 any fun to use?

 

•Ive heard that the M48 is getting a buff someday, anyone know if this is legitimate?

 

•[Most important question of them] Is it worth getting.

 

Also, I heard the T110E5 is basically a slightly slower, much better Patton and that the Pattons "Top Hat" completely ruins it.

Coming from a Patton fanatic, the m48 was kind of a let down from the m46.  The m46 is the best tier IX med and your exactly right the m48 is just mediocre.  If i had to do it again i would keep your m46 and not buy the m48.

1. They are more or less the same tank, but I liked the M46 Patton better. (possibly due to better DPM for its tier?)

2. All tier X mediums are pretty mediocre, since other than the T-62, they all carry some variant of the same 105mm L7. The only thing that sets them apart are a few small differences: E-50M has a tough frontal hull, FV4202 is a great hill climber, but low top speed, M48 has gun depression and best view range in the game, Leo has speed but no armor, etc...

3. I don't know if it will be getting a buff, but I hope it will. (Hopefully even better view range)

4.That depends on your playstyle. If you are willing to grind for the top gun, and you can use its view range and gun depression, it can be an excellent tank. Just watch out for its HUGE silhouette (bigger than the T110E5), and center turret position(gives less gun depression 9 degrees vs. 10 on the M46)

M48 is my biggest regret.  I'm horrible in mediums, but can drive the M46.  The M46 is just a much better tank (for it's tier).  I'd save the silver for the E5.

 

Of course, folks say that I drive my M48 the same as my IS-7, so that might have something to do with it.

I don't have it, but I have seen my fair share of good and bad Big Patton drivers. Little Pattons seem pretty good, but a good driver in the M48 ruins my day. Stay hull down as your turret can bounce a lot. if you turn sideways and drive forward and backward even a little (1-2 meters), it makes the top hat impossible to hit, and so people are forced to aim at your turret which is the trolliest turret in the game.

M48 is my fav tank.  Free xp the top gun before you drive it and gold the crew if an option.  Armour is very troll but you need to keep it moving.  You will rarely need to use preammo in it so dont load much.  Cover needs to be used but its a big tank so watch you do not leave your self hanging out.

M48 is one of my top favorite tanks, and love it way more than the M46. I do have a lower WR in it than the M46 though. I don't feel like the turret is that much worse than E5 in terms of getting hit. It's super troll and bounce/absorbs damage a lot. For some reason I just like the feel of the tank. Everything's in harmony, faster traverse than M46 as well as acceleration. The gun is fast and accurate, with the 3rd highest pen in Tier X only behind Jg & Obj (IIRC). I loved it so much, that after 500 battles, it felt like I just got it and still love playing it. One of the more armored Tier X mediums, any time you end up 1v1 against the Russians, you can destroy them with 1/3 life left (if you play it right). This armor allows you more freedom than M46, where you're always hulled down. You can brawl more, you can lead the charge more, but still be able to play support as you should. I definitely recommend it over T-62, which got boring after awhile. Which btw, is not an easy tank to master. The M48 is much more forgiving.

Uhh, the Patton is the best tier 9 med. You know the 54 is in the game right...

So from what ive seen from multiple posts either you love it or you hate it... I really hope I wont hate it. I still dont know if I should buy it or not

Don't sell the M46 to get the M48.  That much is for sure.  Is it worth getting the M48 on its own, otherwise? I am non-committal at this point.  It has my worse WR in tier X, but I am only 50-60 games in so that can be fluky.  My damage in it is good enough that I think the WR should pick up some.

 

Is it fun?  I find it less fun than the M46, but at least some of that is outcome related.  It isn't fun when you average around the same damage at the next tier with a 25+% dip in WR.  Again some of that maybe fluky, but it is definitely a step down from the M46.  It is bulkier and slower or at least feels that way.

Of course get it and don't sell the M46. I sold mine cause the T54 is CLEARLY the best T9 med, but I regret selling it and will get it back someday. The M48 is still the best anti-med medium, as someone once told me, and is worth having in the garage.

I might get some hate for this, but I think the m46 is better than the 54. The m46 has superior alpha, dpm, and view range, allowing you to always get in the first shot, and make it hurt too. It also has that signature American tank gun depression so you can use any hill or ridge possible to be as annoying as possible. The weak armor has all these kinks and auto bounce angles and the "paper" patton can still score quite a few lucky bounces. And let's be honest, nobody plays meds for armor anyway. Your move t54.

Its a little slower than the M46, yes the depression is a little worse, and yes, the "top hat" is a bit annoying, but its still a very fun tank.

I really liked the M46, and I'm thinking of buying it back. The M48 is tricky for me, I need to get better with it. I wouldn't say it was a let-down, but it isn't as nimble as its little brother, yet it has everybodys high expectations. I've noticed that people LOVE to headhunt me in the M48, everybody sees it and tries to kill it (often very succesfully). If I had to make a choice on money, I'd say hang onto the M46 and go for the E5 if your already grinding that line. I wouldn't reccomend the M48 as a first or second tier X, but I don't regret getting it.

Agree with all the "worst" comments...the one dude who loves must have mistaken it for another...you lead a battle u will die in no time! I average 40% WR in the M48, while all other 8-10s in the 55-80% range. I agree that the M48 get head hunted alot - players see the patton and start salvating with easy kill on their mind.

Yes. Get the M48. Play it like a fast TD (don't get shot at like playing the T20) and then if need be ram all red mediums and face hug... My m48 stats would be much better if I wiped away the first 1,000 games in it...

Idk e50 eats a lot of t54s and t62s that get to close

What's with having to research two guns on the m48? I've seen some tier tens where you have to research one thing, but two?
