Hello Everyone,

 

My first battle with the Matilda IV was really good. During this battle tier V battle, this Matilda IV was the OP tank. My first battle results were a large amount of inflicted damage, a pool medal, a steel wall, and an ace mastery. See in the spoilers below.

 

If you are very comfortable with the British Matilda, you might like the Matilda IV. It is faster moving than the British Matilda. The gun reloading is slower than the QDF 2lb but manageable. It has the similar tough armor of the British Matilda and the weaknesses.

 

As with other premium tanks, gun penetration can be an issue. One might be have to use a good portion of premium ammo to be effective.

 

I do not know if it has pref MM, but I will hopefully soon find out. If anyone has any insight on this, please post.

That's encouraging to hear.  I have to admit, I briefly thought about getting this tank... but I'm just not certain it will hold up in the higher tiers...

 

Does anyone have a video of it in a V-VI battle?  Klaus, you're usually good for videos, how about it?

My first game I was wrecked by a Stu/ Matilda combo before I could duck and cover. Didn't bounce a single shot angled or no. Wanted to check for Matilda IV reviews or comments on here before trying again.

Well, it seems to work well and hit hard except when it can't pen and gets left behind. That just happened to me. Got isolated, couldn't pen and there was nobody to take out the tank I kept knocking the tracks off.  It's very like the other Matildas, just a bigger hit and slower reload, it seems to me so far. The turret is better than the BP's, and just had a short duel with one of those and that was nice.

If you like the other Matildas' fast firing guns, you won't like this. I would never take this thing out without a bunch of prammo. But if you like Matildas you'll probably enjoy this quite distinct variation. I'm pretty poor with Matildas anyway, so I'm probably a bad judge of it.

How is the credit earning? I think I have enough premiums, and I don't expect this tank to be really rare, so probably won't get it unless it has mad credit printing skills.

That's good to know, congrats. The mastery doesn't mean it's a great tank though, because it's a new tank the bar is set pretty low. By Sunday getting a mastery will be harder and we should have a good idea as to how well the Matilda IV is. Thanks for the info.

Your welcome WhiskeyCyclone. It was my first and, so far, only battle with this tank. I decided to post this because there already has been some negative posts on this tank. It was just a surprise to make such a home-run hit the first time to bat with this tank.

 

I am almost tempted to leave it at one battle because the stats on this tank will only go down after this.

So far I haven't seen anything above tier VI in my games. That's no assurance, but I've played several games so I think it has prefMM.

I tried hard my friend and I even had a battle where I was fighting tier 6s and did 2k damage but Shou is having a massive stroke and keeps freezing on a single frame in every video I make

Yes, but that doesn't mean it necessarily will in Blitz. The SU-85i has prefMM on PC, but not for Blitz, and the AT-15A and E25 both lacked prefMM when released, though it was later added for both.

According to 48 ton Ruckus video it does in fact have Pref MM.
