If you are looking to pursue this line to tier X, and play a good tier X tank, I would go for the Jackson, as it leads to the e3 which from I have seen and heard from platoon mates is a lot better than the e4. However, if you are looking for a great tank right now, go with the hellcat.  It has great gun, speed, and cam rating.  It is deadly when used correctly, but the t25/2 is trash... So it all depends what you want now and later.

M18. Both tanks have [edited]armor. They will be easily pen either way. Both are good Hull-down but the M18 is so much more fun and has terrific mobility,

Let me say that in terms of gun preformance they are exactly the same, both get the 76 and 90mm guns. As for the armor, the Jackson does not actually have 114mm of armor, that's only in the lower glacis plate of the tank, the upper frontal plate is 90mm thick head on, which all tier 5 and all tier 6 tanks should go through with ease unless you wiggle and angle, and the sides are very weak at only 30mm of armor. The Jackson also has a worse Camo rating and a far lower top speed, but the Hellcat except the upgraded turret has quite litterally no armor, HE shells will pen you. It's a matter of choice, but I like the Hellcat.

FYI on the Hellcat, just because you can go 65 kph, doesn't mean you should.

Hellcat is fun but the Jackson is deadly IMO.

T30 looks like a really nice tank, but I don't think it's worth going through that line (along with the e4) just for that. Jackson line isn't too bad, some tanks arent super exciting but e3 looks very nice. Im on the t95 right now and its a real coin flip tank. Half the battles it'll be painful, half the battles you'll carry hard or at least enjoy seeing red bleed after taking a 155 mm round in their guts.

As for the Jackson itself, it's not bad. I kinda liked it. It's got a good gun, definetly one of the better ones at tier 6. You get decent alpha, decent pen, and amazing prammo pen. The chassis also shouldn't leave you problems with mobility and the [slow moving] turret is a bit of an advantage over the non-turreted competition. The Jackson is also good for peek-a-booming and providing close fire support for higher tier tanks.

Anni is more overpowered than missiles were...will it get removed, too?

Just another demo account, nothing to see here

Hellcat the only real advantage the jackson has over the hellcat is that the jackson cannot be penetrated by HE (well at least from the front)

Hellcat: faster, smaller, better camo. You can easily peek a boom at range in this

Jackson: same as hellcat exept for its bigger, god awfully slower, poorer camo

Never used the Jackson but I hate the hellcat. It's turret is way to slow and you have no armor.

Jackson is one of the worst tanks I have ever driven, slow turret traverse, slow acceleration and overall speed, reticle bloom on movement is terrible making it hard to snapshot, armor is nonexistent in both turret and hull.  Hellcat is much much better.

I am obviously biased towards the Hellcat, but I did get a Rasenai in a Jackson because it is tougher hull down using similar tactics.

Neither are brawlers because of awful traverse speeds, both turret and hull. The beauty of the Hellcat is how tiny it is. Lots more camo and lot more ground cover from terrain. That, and the speed is a great escape plan if you get caught without nearby help.

I'd nutshell the decision this way:

Like Peek-a-boom? Hellcat. It hides and runs away very well. You can hang at a favorite sniper hide up to the very last second of being light bulbed and still get away from most average shooters.

Like to stick and move? Jackson. Gotta keep a Jackson moving from one good firing position to the next in a planned out way due its lack of speed.

The mistake many people make with the Hellcat is to use its speed to get into, rather than out of, trouble. The mistake people mostly make with the Jackson is to sit down and snipe with it while having no Plan B. The M36 driver should just trail the heavies and shoot from further back for best results. Just don't fight close quarters.
