I've created an E 50 M video (for visual learners) based upon the preferred fighting method described by A7X0 and the community.  I am not an expert, but understand the concepts conveyed.  The E 50 M is a difficult tank to 'get', as most people play it like a brawler due to its look and feel - this may not be optimal given its limitations.  This vid is designed for people new to the tank who may be struggling a bit - it's only 10 minutes, has graphic overlays from Armor Inspector, Annotations for better understanding of concepts, etc. and won't take too much of your time.

Thanks for making this, but I have to advise against full HEAT loadouts. HEAT is a terribly unreliable round. It gets eaten alive by spaced armor. You will easily bounce off the sides of IS-7's and E 100s with it. The E 50 M has the highest non-TD penetration on its standard ammo, and it's APCR, which is possibly the best ammo type due to its increased velocity and ability to penetrate spaced armor reliably. 46 HEAT is a bit overkill. The most I would use is 20 up to maybe 25. The APCR on this tank is a godsend. You won't need HEAT that often. And when you do, you can easily switch to it. Hint: Open your ammo tray and keep it open during the match so switching ammo type is just one click. I would understand if APCR was the premium ammo, as I did at one point try a full APCR load-out in my IS-7, which worked incredibly well. But the reality is HEAT sucks and its mechanics are too hindering to make it a primary ammo.

A7X0 - funny you should mention the ammo load out, I had a couple of fellow Triarii question my sanity on that decision as well!  I will certainly heed the advise of those more experienced, and more knowledgeable, than I and alter the ammo to reflect a large percentage of APCR; I am truly thankful for the information and the guidance.  For me, it's all about learning more, testing and applying that knowledge, then passing it on to help improve the play of everyone who loves this game...and the better they are, the more fun for me!  Enlightened self-interest!  :)

I was grinding the Japanese line and hating it, and after reading more about the STB I concluded it wasn't for me and scrapped the cheetoh. So after a year and a half since starting my blitz career, I began the long march up the E -50 M line last night. This guide should come in handy. Cheers.

Great video

Thanks for taking a look at the vid & the compliment.  I (personally) love this tank - it's not my best overall for WR (if one holds that as the most important measure), but it sure is fun to play!

I know I'm rather late to say this, but the E 50 M's turret has now gotten a rather nice buff to its turret armor, giving it now a good chance to bounce standard ammunition of nearly any non-TD. Now it is just where it should be. Enjoy the OP 50 M. (:
