1) The Mentor skill, even when mastered to Level 6, is still only giving a 5% Crew XP bonus at the end of games.
2) The requirement to master a skill to Level 5 was supposed to drop to 500,000, according to the News Article posted:

It has not. It is 624,000, as seen in screenshot here:

That's cool and I totally respect that position. My point is that the reason the crew skill numbers are so high is so that WG can extract money from people like me.

Hey, I got a reply regarding my ticket about Mentoring Level 6 not giving us 6% bonus. Devs acknowledge the issue and are working to fix it.
Here's the reply I got:
After gathering feedback from both our support system and the World of Tanks Blitz forums, we are aware of the issue you reported where the Mentor Level VI Crew Skill is not providing players with a 6% increase in Crew XP as it is advertised in the game.
With that said, our developers are now investigating this issue to prepare a fix in a future update to the game.
We highly recommend that you stay tuned to our patch notes to see if this issue is addressed in the near future:
