WOTB 2.3 ran fine on both my Android devices (Nexus 5x, Nexus 9). When I clicked Battle and the map screen appears with the team rosters, I would enter the battle within 5 seconds.

Now, on WOTB 2.4, on my Nexus 9 device, it takes well over 30 secs before I enter the battle. Long enough for the map intro song to finish playing to the end.  I am able to enter battles quickly on my Nexus 5x device in WOTB 2.4, so thus feels like a GPU texture loading delay problem.

TLDR:

WOTB 2.3, battles entered without delay on Nexus 5x (Adreno GPU) and on Nexus 9 (Tegra GPU).

WOTB 2.4, long delay before entering battle on Nexus 9 (Tegra GPU). No delays in WOTB 2.4 with Nexus 5x (Adreno GPU).

Both Android devices running stock unrooted latest Marshmallow 6.0.

Change that "g" in "Tegra" to a "b." Then you will be fine.

It's not limited to the Tegra.  Running Android 5.1.1 here on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (Snapdragon 805 and Andreno 420).

They had this bug in v2.1-2, it was fixed in v2.3, and now it's back in v2.4.

I'm not entering battles as late as you -- generally 10-20 seconds after my platoon partners have told me they've already started the game (countdown finished), and most of whom are running MUCH older devices.

It's definitely not limited to Tegra. I have a Nexus 9 (Tegra) and a Nexus 6 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 805) which are both experiencing this issue.

Weird thing is I have a Nexus 5x and that has zero pre-battle delay in WotB 2.4

Please, enter a support ticket if you see this bug too. The more people they hear from, the more info they gather, the faster they can fix the issue.

Sadly, the Android update that came out on Saturday in Google Store (2.4.0.164) did *not* fix the problem of long pre-battle delays before entering the match on my Nexus 9 device.

This is even after wiping app cache, app data, uninstalling, restarting and reinstalling.

WG, is there any specific info I can provide to help you troubleshoot this?

PS. I can rule out server load as a factor, because I get the same delay on my Nexus 9 when the server has 12k players as when the server has 3k players.

PPS. Also, not network related, as I've tried via WiFi and cellular, same delay either way on Nexus 9, whereas no delay on my Nexus 5x via the same WiFi and cellular.

Same issue on Galaxy tab 2 10.1.  Rebooting sometimes helps. It seems like this might be an issue with consumption of all free RAM, OOM. When this is bad I come into the battle a full 2 minutes after the start. This makes the game unplayable, please fix this soon.
