Slow and steady is the only way to play this and the KV-1S,

Creep up, shoot and back away to reload. Rinse, Repeat.

Always better to team up with a fast ROF medium to keep bad guys distracted.

Well. This is much more for KV-3, much less for IS. KV-1s is somewhat in the middle, due to the slow reload.

Even with the stock engine, but the upgraded tracks and crew, IS is very mobile and by no means slow. You can sweep the map easily in an IS platoon if you are top tier (replace one IS with KV-13 or T-43 if you would like).

So in short, you should use IS's mobility (same for KV-1s) to change location/flank etc. That's how this tank shines. Unlike KV-3 you can quickly relocate and unlike mediums you can actually take damage. It is a great tank.

Just Aced it on Malinovka with top tracks, top turret, stock engine, 100mm and 83% crew. Did 3414 damage and 3 kills. Haven't researched the 122s yet so can't compare. Going to get the engine first.

Stat padding Tank rehabbing

Thanks for all the advice I have maxed the is and I have tried both the 100 and the 122 I just can't get the hang of it, I loved the kv1s though, I will prob just grind through the is and sell it once I'm done, I would love to have a toon mate to tell me what I'm doing wrong with it.

Based on a quick look you may want to stay at lower tiers for now. I suggest 5-6 since you are doing ok with KV-1/1S. Your survival rate is pretty low, maybe you are too aggressive. Take KV-1 and learn the sidescraping/angling (30% survival for that tank is very low).

I have been rehabbing tanks to get everything back up.

That a main reason I dont have over a t7 in my reg tanks is I stopped moving up the tiers so I could focus on learning the basics and improving my knowledge, but I still like to play in the higher tiers every now and then.

That's good! Learn the maps in the same time. I'm sure by the time you will have finished rehabing those lower level tanks your IS performance will be better!

Good luck! If you see me on-line - hit me I may be able to platoon.

Hello, My 2 cents...I generally flank with this tank %75 of the time, let the greens light up the reds and come in hard from the side with the 122 popping adrenaline closing at whatever apropiate speed, and if the team has good heavy I follow them %25 of the time. I don,t usually do killer damage, but can influence the game...sometimes carry. And use a lot of apcr :-) works ok. Except in tier 9 game then it's op tier 9 tank turns into a light tank, hide behind buildings and rocks trying to get back shots!         Hope that helps a little.

I was lucky I moved on to KV line before jumping on the IS line. The KV line is more forgiving for mistakes than the IS in my opinion.

I was one tier ahead on the KV than the IS, and so I got the ZiS-6 from my KV-2, moved on to D-2-5T on the KV-3 to mount on the 1S.

Later got the D-25T from the KV-4 to mount on the IS, as it is a mandatory upgrade for the KV-4.

Aced tanks: T34 (x2), T14, KV-3, BT-SV (x3), Churchill III

Tier X: FV215b
