I got at wotbstars in this section: http://www.wotbstars.com/top.php?lng=eng&top_type=STAR1&type=GALL&tank=49&geo=NA
Type 59
Total players own this tank: 301 (when I saw this morning were 300 units)
Clown Car
Total players own this tank: 1106
Using very conservative numbers, 300 units - 56 Giveway units = 244. There are the units in the WG employers for test purposes, maybe 5? We got around 240 units sold.

And all the buyers who haven't searched themselves on wotbstars.

Type hasn't been sold on PC for several years to my knowledge. I don't think WG cares how many units they sell. They prefer the population be relatively low. In that case, WG priced the tank correctly.

I have my doubts about this, since 1/6 of the 59's are giveway units...

What are you talking about? You don't need to do a search to have your tanks registered in wotbstars. The numbers are from the game database.

I'm not sure what youre trying to say with that 1/6 number? You doubt their trying to keep the population low? Seems like it's working? The type is a reward-tank now on PC and has been so for, what, 3 years or more? They're clearly not interested in increasing the type population on PC. They would make a lot of money if they put it on sale. Since they haven't put it on sale, and aren't making, therefore, ANY money on type sales (pc) then making a large profit with the type is pretty clearly not their goal.
Having personally survived the great type 59 scourge on PC, I'm pretty sure WG doesn't want to make the same mistakes here as they did there/then.
In summary, WG could make much more money if they decreased the price of the type. Do you not think THEY know this? If you do, then you simply must conclude that they're are other goals in play NOT revolving around $.
They've been doing this tank game for several years. I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing.

If WG don't want people buying it, why they bother making another announcement about this sale? This don't make any sense.
The Type 59 is available now in the Premium shop via two different bundles. Get it before it disappears January 4!

Here are a couple images of what WoT pc was like when the type 59 was on sale for $35. This is the mistake I believe WG is trying to avoid in Blitz. I, for one, hope they succeed...
