Don't know if it was already asked, but will the vehicles with premium MM now have +0 MM? So will the E25 always be in T7 games, and will the IS6 always be in T8 games?

Wargaming why you do this to us?

I'm quitting the game till you reintroduce +/- 2 MM. 

 

I loved this MM b//c of the challenge. Now there is no challenge. Making the game boring and not fun. The hype after camo will wear off after a few days and gameplay will be static.

Diversity is key. 

 

 

By the way, since we are the test server for this new MM, is it b.c we always came last in all the server-wide contests?

THANK GOODNESS THIS IS COMING! Tier VI MM is BRUTAL, and I can only imagine how terrible Tier VIII is... I would gladly wait five seconds more searching for a game than be thrown in Tier VIII and Tier X matches all the time...

Yeah, I agree that this would also work.  It really only bothered me when I would be playing around in tier 5/6 and EVERY SINGLE BATTLE I would not only be bottom tier, but also half the time the upper tiers would just get stacked in their.  balancing out how much time you spend being the "tank towel boy" would have definitely been another solution to the problem.  Harder to code though...

The Valentine and the B2 will have -1/+0 Match Making, if that helps big guy.  Otherwise, all -2/+1 MM'ing will go to -1/+1.

Thanks WG! Getting smashed in a tier VIII by a tier X has gotten old. Looking forward to the new format. Should help save and earn credits. Great idea.

No fail tooning between say a tier 7 and 8 should still result in tier 9 game for the tier 7.

I agree Gib_Savages, it'll make getting Aces just a bit more challenging. If I had more free time it would be fun to see the % of Aces received when people are facing +2 tanks.  All the same, since there still is a chance that you'll see +1 tier tanks ~1/2 the time I'm guessing the effect won't be that pronounced.  All the same I'll miss that xp bonus for damage/spotting/killing +2 tier tanks!

I believe what is meant by that is you will probably still be able to "failtoon" into -2/+2 MM'ing when platooned...

 

For example, an IS tooned with an IS-3 because stupid people do stupid things.  That IS will still be able to see tier 9.

 

So I think what he's looking for is "how often does this happen in the wild?"  As in "How often do you see window lickers failtooning?" because he's a Wargaming employee he can't come out and say, "Hey don't failtoon, that's window-licking!"  But we all know it is.

I think most forumers can handle the +2mm and will miss the challenge but we all know how frustrating it is when you are low tier and the high tier players on your are potatoes. I think it's a good thing.

Aces should really only be more challenging for the first week after the update drops.  After that, all the Ace XP numbers will be based on the new MM system and it should be just as easy/hard as it is now.

I think platoons will be affected by the +1/-1 update, but since platoon matchmaking is based on the highest tier tank, it's possible for a lower tier tank to be dragged into a higher tier game. With the update, a solo Tier VI should see Tier VII at the highest. But if a Tier VI platoons with a Tier VII, the higher tier matchmaking will be used, meaning a Tier VI seeing Tier VIII tanks.

 

Weighing pros/cons, I'm pretty excited for this, and I'll be eager to see what happens with 2.6. Particularly curious to see how the new MM affects stats - I'll have to snapshot my stats pre-update, and compare after a month. I'll miss that thrill of carrying a game while bottom tier, but I feel like my ratio of bottom tier carries:potatoes isn't particularly favorable for me anyway...

 

And I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't think I've ever waited in the queue for longer than two minutes, and I usually play at some odd times (3am EST on Weekdays, etc...), so hopefully the queue time increase will be minimal!

Yay! Now I don't have to fight Comets in my T49, or (in platoon) IS-3s in my pitiful KV-1.

 

But what about tanks that have Preferred (not Preferential) MM, like the Type 59? All this change does is eliminate easy tier 6 kills. This change makes it HARDER for tanks with Preferred MM. And I suppose the same is true with Preferential MM tanks, though I don't have any. Should Preferential or Preferred MM now mean that that team has more high tier tanks than the other team? Because this change really puts down the PAYING players that spent money for Preferential or Preferred MM.

 

I think that, as of now, I support this change. But you must, WG, MUST change how specialized MM works!
