Before 2.5, camo net equipment gave you 25% better camo.

Starting with 2.5, camo net only gives you 15% better camo.

 

Ouch.

 

And the best you can do with camo skin is 4%, so net loss of 6% camo.  

 

RIP TDs.

Old camo net gave %25 boost.

New TD camo net only gives 15% boost.

( so even with camo skin 4%, a net nerf of 6%)

 

New Med, LT camo net: 10% boost

( so even with camo skin 3%, a net nerf of 12%)

 

New heavy camo net: 5% boost.

(So even with camo skin 2%, a net nerf of 18%)

 

Big Ouch.

The game is better with four classes of tanks; otherwise WG should just call it "World of Mediums Blitz" and be honest about their intentions. I liked it better back in 1.9, when light tanks and tank destroyers played very differently than mediums and heavies.

 

And hey, there is nothing wrong with YOLO and brawling in a tank if that's what you like to do. There are 30+ mediums in the game that are great at aggressive fast combat. Knock yourself out. But is it also okay if I want what I like, too? Can you save a little room on that 130-tank tech tree for me, buckeyeinpitt?

 

Half of the chatter, updates, marketing, and energy around here center around adding more tanks to the game. Why would you want new nations and tank lines added if at the same time you wanted light tanks and tank destroyers to go away?

Yeah WG ruined the cammo net module for my tds and the cammo skins costs is exactly the double I was expecting.  Great WG,  great...

Being smart about camo and spotting mechanics means you can get the first detection and alpha damage on the enemy.

 

But feel free to YOLO straight in and slug it out toe to toe every time.  That just seems so limited, and dumb.

This sucks. I rarely used camo net but it was crucial for the Hellcat and Church GC of the world.

Yeah, but there is no amount of gold or credits I can spend to get my Crusader, Covey, or Hetzer back to the camo level they had prior to this nerf. It's not just that the prices have gone up; the product has gone down. Was that really a problem, WG? Were thousands of people howling about how OP stealthy the Crusader was and I missed it?

 

I'll say it over and over: Not all of us want to race medium tanks into a central area and bruise it out with 13 other medium tanks. I'm totally okay with there being a few cage-match maps and more than a few cage-match tank lines. But some of us LIKE stealth, long sight lines, sniping, and finesse. We are not bad people for liking those things. And we are not bad people for lamenting their diminishment.

Yup a bit excessive of wg. I get they are trying to prevent heavies from camping.  But if someone is foolish enough to climb a Mountian in a m6 or t-150. Or a maus.......I doubt they are even running camo nets....,,or for that reason equipment. 

They are just making life tougher for tanks that require camo.

Not happy in the least for my no-armor-whatsoever TDs that simply cannot frontline.

 

I had anticipated running my TDs again with the 25% AND the $3k camo consumable for that 29% combined. Figuring they'd finally have a fighting chance and I could end their grinds and move up

 

BUT NO!  

 

All my 100k-250k camo TD nets just lost 10% camo value ?!

And all I can get is 19% by paying every battle?!

 

What the frozen popsicles?!

No loss for heavies and mediums. For camo net to be activated you have to stand still for three seconds. So good luck, camping Type 59's and IS-6's!

Yeah , a camo net and skin on a Heavy is a waste of money and equipment slot, but TDs are just being forced out of the game, fast.

and on the flip side, feel free to sit back and CAMP and watch your team get shredded cause you won't move and think you are doing something useful.     Camping is THE #1 problem in game.  There is nothing worse.

Hey, how about we agree to disagree, so we can move on and talk about camo net and camo skin numbers, ok?  Start a new thread about hating on campers, and I will chime in and agree with you that they are scum. 

 

But I'm trying to have a nuanced discussion about the effects of this update on camo and spotting mechanics.

 

Can you agree to that?
