No, I'm not talking about aftermarket, banned hit skins.

I'm talking about the...I don't know what it's called, but when in sniper mode, when the tanks show the colors based on the penetration chance ( red for AP and yellow/red for HE).

Anyway, I'm finding certain Camo patters mask the sniper mode colors, especially at a distance. This may be intentional, but if it was, I would think it would be on all of them. The worse ones for me are the ones with yellow and/or "rust" colors in them. To me, the colors just blend in enough to make it more difficult to see like non-camo or other camo styled vehicles.

Here are the ones I have found so far:

Japanese: Desert - Crouching Tiger and Sand Cyclone

German: Summer - Willpower

British: Desert - Royal Ribbon (Noticed by IgniteTheFire)

I'm sure there may be more, but those are the only one's I've found since yesterday.

Has anyone else noticed this and what are your thoughts?

You're referring to the camo skin coloration masking the penetration hitskin.

Go into Graphics settings, turn camo skins to off. No more coloration masking, the hitskin is now clearly visible as before.

Or change that setting to Player Only, which I believe allows you to admire your own camo skin, but does not render the camo skin on anyone else.

What about Royal Ribbon on British desert? The slight red might make it look like a low-chance shot, since hitskins are gradient.

I don't think I have encountered this yet, but I will add it to my list.

That is the problem. I've been seeing more and more people using the hit skins like the ones that flooded WoT. What were they OMC mods. The ones that give you exact points to shoot at. So every shot takes out one of your mods. To me that is flat out cheating.

I played WoT from beta, was over 20k battles before I quit because of all the mods in the game. We had to learn the tanks and where to hit them. Mostly cause you could be in a T5 tank and get in a T10 battle. I think that if you use that kind of hit skin here you should be banned.

Or here is a novel idea. Do like WoT and make modes. Only want a certain type of battle, then check that type of battle. Don't want mods or pay to win players, then have a mode where the only thing you can have on you tank is the consumables and equipment that you get from the ammory in your garage.

That would make people learn the tanks and where to aim on them. It would also make teams better. As you can't rely on your mods or gold. You can't pay to win or cheat. you have to rely on your skills alone.

i don't think anyone in this thread was talking about custom mod hitskin, just the standard Red Green hitscreen we all see on enemy tanks.

It was the first thing I thought of when I heard canmos were coming out :teethhappy:. Yeah dark and green cammos help to be anti-hitskins. I noticed this a while back with the t34-85 and of course the T34 with the glorious Red and Blue, which does have an advantage over regular skinned one when facing tier 6s who don't know where to shoot.

Does anyone else feel the option to turn off your opponents camo is total balogna? Kind of defeats the purpose of purchasing camo.

^^^^This. Seriously, if you don't know where to shoot certain tanks at 2-3k games, don't complain about camo.

You do realize your opponents are still getting the effect that the camo gives should they choose to apply it, just the skin that represents the camo boost is not displayed to you, right?
