The audio disconnects a bit due to lag while recording but you see clearly that a Jagdpanzer IV (which when top tier boasts very good penetration) targets my sidescraping Anko and fails to penetrate what's normally 25mm of side armor due to the 5mm of spaced armor.
Any other tier V Med would have easily been penned by 150mm of average penetration at an angle like that.
this tank only had 20mm of armor on the side...minus the skirts.
That jpanzer IV had a 75mm gun
20 X 3 = 60
60mm guns should overmatch the anko side armor.
this leads us to an important discovery about overmatching and spaced armor.
When overmatching armor you must have to add spaced armor into the equation as if it was solid.
so my effective side thickness is 25 X 3
75mm.
If if my hunch is correct about over matching the shell must be bigger than 3 X the thickness of the armor so all 75mm guns can be sidescraped against. But tanks with 76mm guns (like the E8) should still overmatch your side armor....this has yet to be tested though so I cannot say for sure. But this is what I can deduce from bouncing that shell
