Those of you with major ping or lag, this Netgear R6250 router that can handle what you throw at it.  We can have over half a dozen tankers playing at once, without nasty ping spikes, all thanks to QoS running on DD-WRT.  It cannot be overstated that a poor router, or a poorly configured router, can ruin any online fast-paced MMOG, including Blitz.

You can get this router on Amazon.  For $63 you'll get a router than has decent range that will be fine for most homes.  Larger homes (>50' from the router) may need either a second router (don't play on a secondary router - your ping increases because of the extra connection) or one with exterior antennae.

You can give it a go with the stock firmware, but for those who want to get the most out of it, you need to install DD-WRT, which will allow the 2nd processor to be fully utilized.  If you have never tried alternate firmware, this may not be for you.  But if you're comfortable getting under the hood of your router a bit, carry on. The latest firmware for this router can be downloaded here:

http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/dd-wrt.K3_R6250.chk

Then follow these steps to install DD-WRT.  In the following instructions, skip step 6.  The firmware linked here is already up-to-date.

Once DD-WRT is up and running, set up QoS:

With QoS enabled, our gaming experience at home can't be beat.
