So I've heard about this time and time again, but what do you feel is your clans position on recruitment from existing clans?

Do you feel that you need to offer positions in the clan or iTunes cards to move a player from one clan to another brings any benefit?

Is it better to maintain a clan image and make a member want to join and leave on his or her own accord?

Have you personally had this experience within your own clan?

I'd like to understand how others feel about this topic. Thanks for your input.

I don't have a problem with it, as long as you're not forcing it upon someone. If they wish to join themselves, then great. If they don't, respect their decision and leave it at that.

I would love for Wargaming to succeed, and I will push for success until I'm gone or Blitz is.

So are you saying its ok to offer an incentive or iTunes/Google Play cards to gain members?

Depends on how much they are willing to give, and how much I need.

Monetary enticement can be effective, but once you start you can't go back. Eventually, Clan will realize it doesn't work and have to recruit based on reputation.

I really doubt too too many players text a clan leader saying they will defect for a war chest, but I could be wrong.

Why the passive aggressiveness? And BTW I don't care what a clan does to earn his clan mates. However as I clan leader I won't do that.

It's really a double edged sword. While the appeal is there, it's super easy for someone to just join, take the money and leave, thus creating a risk.

Unless you offer me the body of our lord and savior, Jar Jar Binks, I will not to join a clan for money.

Put up recruitment page. People usually contact me with recruitment opportunities. Once they are in the clan, they are free to leave when they want too. If they violate any rules, they may or may not receive a warning (depending on the severity of the violation).

Well, certainly breaking a folkway. However I'm not really qualified to judge it as morally reprehensible or not.

Think more subtly. Player_7283729992 is in [newb]. Says "it'd be cool to be part of [MLG] someday!"

[MLG] recruiter says "you're pretty close to the reqs. Are you interested?"

vs.

[MLG] recruiter saying to him "hey bud, we are having a reward for members that join by March 6th. Are you interested?"

I mean, I certainly wouldn't be happy with either of them, but in the end, they're leaving my clan because they want to. No rules against it.

My opinion is that provided it is legal and you do not try to bully or pester them if they say no they you can do what you want, I know others have other opinions and I personally will not try to recruit someone who is part of a clan unless they say they want to leave it.

For a MEMBER, wanting to join another clan while in one's current clan is perfectly fine and the decision should be understood by any respectable clan leader.

For a RECRUITER, I don't approve of "sniping" other members into your clan. While it's fine to advertise your clan in general, messaging someone who's already in a clan and going "hey we made a new clan," nudge-nudge-wink-wink, is a bit dirty IMO. The decision to switch clans should be made solely by the switcher, and not influenced by any external sources.

Forget about flat-out bribery. That is straight up despicable and shows your clan is so bad you have to pay people to join.

Feels slimy to me.  There is already a lack of integrity too often displayed within the game with ever-present verbal abuse by trolls hiding behind a computer giving them confidence to berate anyone in the community with impunity - now we want to create a group of mercenaries paid to play pixel tanks?  No, I say Mr Pitt!  No!

This is an issue that wolfydude and I are experiencing now. I would say it's a bit wrong to use money as an incentive... that's more like hiring a mercenary than actually recruiting a clan member.

Recruiting is simple enough, you play matches, if someone who isn't in a clan plays well, you send a clan invite and chat a bit. Maybe do a few platoon fights. The only problem is, lots of people will platoon with you and then when you ask if they want to join your clan, they just laugh and leave. That's always a bit disheartening.

Well, I don't see anything wrong about recruiting people.  If the person is in another clan though, I think simple respect demands that you not approach them, if you are approached, fair enough.  Bribery though, call it incentive if you wish, that's just out right wrong.

It's always so funny that an outsider would make such a bold accusation with no proof what's so ever. Mind your business and go play your 183 more because you still have no clue how to use it after 1199 battles

I don't see the logic in this response...
