I must be a relic from my days in fighter ace..... In FA  you had squadrons , they played together .  I played WW2online for 3 years too, there you had groups too that played together .  so far now since the inception of "clans" in this game  , I have been a member of a half a dozen different clans  and not one of those  clans  have I had the chance to "platoon" with .  Maybe I am expecting too much by thinking that being in a clan means I should expect to have platoon m8s?  I do believe that I should have platoon m8s in a clan , but then again It is what "I " am looking for but absolutely am not finding  it.  I would like to know more about players who are in clans and why are they in that clan , I,e, what are you getting out of being in the clan?  I am lost at this point.

Benefits of a clan:

  • Easy access to platoons (if you're having trouble, try joining one of the larger name clans such as 501st or Triarii)
  • Clan chat, you can easily talk with many people. Good for asking quick questions
  • Clan supply: makes things like food consumables and tank purchases slightly cheaper
  • (Possibly upcoming) Clan Wars - fight for your clan, get rewards
  • Pride? Lots of players like to join a clan because they want to fight for a group instead of going solo. In other words, for the social aspect.

There are a total of over 6,000 clans, of those there are about 10 I would be a member of (IRD included), so yeah most clans are not ideal.

That's why I created a clan with people I platooned with. However if I wouldn't had created a clan I think I would join some of the clans from the forums.

the list is something like (in no particular order)

501dv

titan

spud(x)

IRD(h) (obviously)

ronin

1776(a)

III (sadly I do not qualify age wise)

SRT (same age problem)

OCD (if it still exists and is what it used to be)

Cmpny

I was including feeders and sister clans as part of their parent clans.

Thanks for the idea of clans…... I applied to all those above, every application was denied.  No clans that platoon exist, my search is over!

Read the caveat, "in no particular order". Also, this is the set of clans I would want to be a member of (assuming no prior entanglements  , like the fact that I am already IRDs commander). I would not want to be a uscum member, I am including feeders with main clans (IE purpl) and I am not certain whether I would want to be a DD member, I play blitz for an entirely different reason then those clans. To me winning is only a way to give everyone a single goal so you can play and not the point of playing, so I take no particular joy in winning besides knowing that it means that I have done well enough that game. That would mean that I would not fit in at all with either of those clans.

Odd, I would not join for anything. To much stress, I play blitz because it is low stress.

Really? To be in a clan with mostly high schoolers and college kids of which most are inactive anymore? Interesting life choices you must make. When i was asked to join the best i could give them was "I'll think about it," but in reality id rather play with good people for fun.

_Bones, most forum clans want to get to know you first. This is the way it is for SPUD(X) and IRD(H), both of which are stellar groups to join. SPUD has no requirements for joining except we want to get to know you, then those in charge choose. If you are interested come on over to the campfire (in clan discussion) it's like over 200 pages long so just go to the end, jump into the conversation, and introduce yourself. If you're a cool guy, you'll probably get in (but I can make no promises as I am not a commander). We brag, complain, give tips, and just talk about life in general.

Behold the Mighty OKRA

FEAR the Mighty OKRA

Cower before the Mighty OKRA

...Or just eat the OKRA... Your choice

In my clan we do toon clan countdowns, they are fun and give us a glimpse of what clan wars are gonna be like. Sometimes we have 2 toons on one side and sometimes two toons on each team, one time we had 6 clan members in one battle on both sides!
