+2/-2 Is and was horrible. Here's why.

It just doesn't make sense. It makes sense in the PC version, but when you're in a team of seven, facing a e75 in a kv3 or t29 is not challenging, it's hopeless. What are you supposed to do? Flank? Use prem ammo? Still inefficient.
This is what I would tell my nephews.
The standard approach for the KV-3 would be to find a good sidescraping position. For the T-29, hull-down instead.
in both cases:
- load APCR and pop the adrenaline, things are going to get tense for a little while.
- don't over-expose. Make it harder for him to hit you.
- keep moving and hope you bounce a few shots.
- know and aim for his weak spots.
- eliminate any lower tier supporting tanks, get him alone.
- track him so it's easier for a higher tier team-mate to hit him.
- most importantly, gang up on him with one or more other tanks. He can't target you all at the same time. Someone keeps him distracted and someone else flanks him.
- if you have most of your hitpoints left, be willing to take a hit if necessary to keep a lower hp team-mate alive and in the game.

Yes, but that's only one situation you described.
These tips don't apply to all of the gameplay, which can suck bad because of the MM.
Besides, what is the point in this MM anyway? Why is it necessary? How is it better from the +1/-1?

The game doesn't suck because of the match making. Some people, make that many people, just don't want to go to the effort of learning to play the game well.

The single most important value of the +2/-2 MM is learning skill. Being -2 means a small mistake has big consequences. You are actually forced as a -2 player to think about every aspect of the game.... Positioning... Tank strengths and weaknesses... Strategies and tactics... Flow of the game... a single mistake in any part of the game can cost you big time.
The second advantage of +2/-2: the game is more complex and varied. Being +2 is a much different play style than -2. This requires you to adapt different play styles in the same tank depending on rank.
There is no right or wrong in the MM. Some folks want the game to be more constant and forgiving with +1/-1... Others (like me) enjoy the challenge of +2/-2.

I agree. A tier seven in a tier nine game really made you think about every decision. As I mentioned in another post, some of my best games came as low tier. It really caused me to strategize more than I did when high tier.
... and just in the middle of weighing my options, one shot from a +2 tank ends all of my options.

Three tiers delta in release 2.7, hardly fair...had a game tier 5-8...bring back +1/-1

Good, because that's obviously where your skill level lies. Don't go trying to punch above your weight when you can't manage to do it.

I just don't understand why people are so against an equal team. It's not less challenging, it's even more challenging.
Facing an opponent with your skill, not with the fact that you lucked out on MM and no matter what you do, his shells won't penetrate your armor. That's no skill, that's just bad coding.
and to all of you who say "stop whining" - go suck a lollipop.
I agree, and it is more than that. Players quit early when they are -2. Sure there are some games where you get a good -2 player, but more often than not u lose fast.
Another point, why can't there at least be balance? Equal amounts of each tier on each team? Too many games there were green team has 2 tier X, 3 tier 9 and 2 tier 8 red team will have 3 tier X, 3 tier 9 and 1 tier 8?????

or you know... the fact that i got a 5.3k dmg game in my JP2 against a GRIM platoon in an IS-7 and an E3 suggests otherwise, but if that makes you feel better...

Sad but true, skill levels dictate most play and knowledge base means so much more than MM. knowing how to use the map, tank and enemy weak spots can help you defeat an enemy even though they are 2 tiers higher as long as you don't try to go head to head. Oh yes, platooning also helps as long as you both understand each others skill sets and tank limitations.
