Okay, so let's discuss how this is going to work.

Are we going to randomly pull teams?  Are we looking for the Spudtacular Seven?  (All rights reserved per: aramikvideo19)

Let's talk about meeting up, how we want to do this, who is all going to be involved.  If you want to participate, post here.

I'm going to include everyone who wants to try, I don't care about skill level.  It's like Pee-Wee Soccer.  If you want on the field, you got it.

If we have enough want, I can see a "Varsity" team...  but that's about how far I'll go.

Also, gonna need Team Captains.  Post up if you want that job, and we'll sort that out too.

Also, post any other relevant info you feel should be discussed here about Clan Wars and what we are looking for.

We should get availability times for when people can play/practice/train/drive off cliffs/etc etc.

Anything I'm forgetting?

I think everyone on a team has to be from the same clan, so that would mean one team from SPUD and one from SPUDX. Don't have a working mic so I can't talk but I can listen (through discord at least).

We can easily field 2 teams, and possibly a 3rd.

Voice coms, setting up times, and then actually being able to be there might be our biggest obstacles.

What if bg2b streamed the battles and someone commentated?

Three teams makes sense. SPUD, SPUDX and SPUD+SPUDX

10 places per team (7 fighting at a time with three alternates swaping in) potentially 21-30 members involved in a CW event, ladder contest etc.

Voice coms are a must from a competitive standpoint. However potato. So perhaps at least the ability to type while driving.

We'll all be giving TR's a workout so playing and training won't be an issue. I'd sugest a SPUD+SPUDX team to start from the most active interested TS+TR participators. Then other teams to follow depending on overall interest and spot availability.

At least one evening per week the team should train as a unit with other spuds plus the three alternate spots as well as friends of the clan who like blowing up and being blown up by taters.

I'm always willing to help with any organizing, training etc.

We have TeamSpeak.  I'm not overly worried about that...  If we want to run a silent team, I think that's do-able too.

I don't think times/being there will be that huge of an ordeal...

Would need Bg2B to confirm his willingness, but that sounds fun.

I think teams have to be from "One Clan."  Moving people around inter-clan shouldn't be a problem, though.

Agreed, once a week should be pretty doable.

Are you volunteering as a Team captain here?  :)

A captain. I guess I could. Would I get a hat to go with the title? Pretty sure all captains should get a hat. Its like a universal rule or something.

Seriously I'd give it a go, willing to let others try the hat as well. Maybe rotating captains?

I'd like to play but my problem would be the time.  Mostly I can only play early in the mornings before the junior SPUD wakes up.  Evenings are family time and I'm generally unavailable.

The streaming is very easy with mobcrush though, at least if you've got a Mac, and I can help if anyone tries it and has problems.  Not that there's much to do: create a mobcrush account, install the mobcrush app on the Mac, then start the app, plug in the iPad, plug your headphones into the Mac instead of the iPad, and click the button to start streaming.

Edit: I guess there's also the question of what tier these things are going to be at.  The highest thing I've got is the one T-34-85.

Edit 2: It would be very cool if multiple people were streaming so that you could look at the battles later from multiple points of view.  I'm not sure how voice comms would work with the stream, but I know it must be possible since I've watched some of Lokeen's streams where he's platooning with someone on discord and all the voices and the battle sounds can be heard.

Brainstorming a bit:

SPUD doesn't worry about WR, but left unsaid in that is the fact that we do have some highly skilled players in the mix. If they want to band together for a "Varsity" team that works for me. The issue becomes having a group of 8-10 that can be on at similar times and also have some flexibility to be on when the competition occurs. This group should all move to the same clan and go from there. I would add that TS is essentially required for this group to reach its peak.

Following that group is anyone that wants to participate. I do see a limitation in that each clan will almost certainly have one entry to as currently constructed we have two possible teams, each with about 10 players.

So, for the next team I think prioritizing players that can use training rooms at the same time and have top tier tanks is the way to go. There are later taters, afternoon spuds, morning tubers, and all of us in between. Ideally these groups can coalesce via clan chat and info posted here. I don't think it needs to be formal initially, but with the idea that each team should establish a core of at least seven. How to extend this beyond one team per clan is unclear, though it may require a third iteration of SPUD.

I see this as only one component of what training rooms brings, so we can skirmish with other clans, fight each other, form a Generals team to fight our Globetrotter team, etc. Not participating in the more organized clan wars does not mean that you will be excluded from the fun, just the opposite.

Personally, I cannot commit to a time for organized clan wars and frankly my tanking is rubbish lately. I would be inclined to be available for training rooms and to skirmish against the groups that form so they can work on their potato.

I see this as a dry run as all the clans and players figure out the logistics, so no reason for anyone to get too hung up on where they are or what groups form as it will all change and we can adapt accordingly.

I can offer:

A. Tanks at every tier.

B. Am on Teamspeak.

C. Nearly nightly play.

Skill set is meh. Depends on which personality is in control at the time.

Have guns, will travel. Put me where you need me. Spud or SpudX.

For you I would highly recommend TS. As we have similar battle counts and tenure in game, I am willing to bet you are experiencing a bit of "staleness" at times. Find your quiet corner of the house and give TS a shot. It can make it a whole new game for you.

Thanks for putting this up, Stealth.

Count me in.

For those concerned about voice comms. No worries. Only the captain/battle caller needs to be speaking for it to work. So any ears only players should be fine.

I record pretty much every thing I do. This will be no exception. I haven't looked into streaming yet. Perhaps I will.

Forgot to say, I can be there pretty much any time from 4 to 7 pm every day but my schedule is quite irregular so have someone to fill in for me if needed. Also of note, I do unfortunately have only up to tier 7 so someone may need to replace me if tiers are above that.
