All tanks do have their weaknesses, but compare this to an E75. The E75 has better armor, mobility, gun handling, and DPM with a bit of an alpha trade off (real world there seems to be only about 100 dmg difference per shot on average). It does ammo rack more often (earned 1 day premium from a mission by ammo racking an ST1), especially Russian tanks for some reason.

I feel like maps are becoming more TD unfriendly with fewer spots to actually sit back like a TD and snipe. I do hide while reloading, until rushed and wrecked by an RU251, or SP 1 C (before 2.9). Or I get trolled by the gun - aiming circle fully aimed focused on a T54, pull the trigger, and hit the dirt way outside the reticle.

I have EGLD, rammer, and optics. I don't use provisions (too cheap). My crew is in the mid-90%.

Way too many games I'm 1v2 or 3, and this tank is impossible in that situation of the reds have any sort of clue. It cannot carry and depends too much on the team. Like most TDs, it needs fire support to keep the enemy mediums at bay, and teamwork like that is way too rare.

Run Cola.  Your gun handling will certainly improve.  Tier 9 isn't the place to save money.  This tank moves and aims SO much better with Fuel and Cola.

The T30 has higher DPM than the E75.  It also has GUN DEPRESSION.  If you aren't using it all the time, you aren't in the right spot.

This tank can carry so hard it is ridiculous.   Use what you have.

Hi guys - just bought it. What is the view (pardon the pun) on optics / bioc to improve view range? Nice or necessary.

I don't think optics or binocs are as important as running vents to get the aim time and reload down. You shouldn't be consistently spotting targets.

Tier 9s and 10s: T110E5, T30, E75, T-54, Centurion 7/1, STB-1, M48 Patton, T110E3, IS-7, IS-4, Obj 140, Obj 263, FV215b, FV215b (183)

So Vents, Rammer and EGLD? Thanks for the response.

T30 plays like this.  Stick heavily armed head over hill, take away 640 hp from opponent, pull back to other side of hill for reload, then repeat.  Note that in some circumstances over hill can be replaced by around building or over dead tank.

All tiers are the place to save money if you don't use premium time and not that many games on premium tanks. I don't want to run a bunch of Victory or M10 games just to be able to play a few tier 9 games. I only play tanks that can support themselves financially.

I am using it all the time. But the tank is so slow, it's extremely easy to flush out.Tier 10 guns also pen the turret head on quite a bit (don't know if their using HE or just hitting the cupola, but E100 / JgPz E100 have done it to me). I'm hiding while reloading, etc.

I consider a carry tank as one that can do things like go 1v3, not just one that can do lots of damage with good team support. One that can win well when run solo. I doubt the best T30 driver could stand against even two 50%+ players.

Stick turret over the hill, lose 640 HP from hit to cupola by JgPz E100 while bouncing shot on STA-1. Pull back to reload; meanwhile STA-1 rushes you and CoDs you.

I am probably not doing it right, but I've been surprised at the amount of damage I've taken when being hull down. I am only 15 +/- games in, loving the gun, but not getting as much out of the turret as I expected.

Do you think I should I be elevating the gun and wiggling more, or just hiding more?

If you are sticking your head over the hill when a JpE100 is pointing at you....well stop.  Your Turret is butter to tier 10 heat rounds.  Play it far enough the you are resetting camo and not the focus of red's attention.  Your job is to deal damage...  Not to tank for your team.  You need to fire and then just disappear for a bit.  Any tier ten or tier 9 with heat can melt your turret.  Don't get shot.

In the current game economy, making money at tier 9 on a standard account just isn't going to happen.  It rarely happened before 2.8 ruined the game economy.  In fact the T30 was notorious for being a credit sink, with one of the lowest credit earning percentages before 2.8  I am often losing money with a premium account in tier 9 games now.

On tier 9 and 10 tanks I run every single thing that could give me an advantage.  And the T30 with a 100 percent crew and cola, vents, rammer and GLD is a much more capable tank than without all of those goodies.  You can choose to not use them.  However you are handicapping yourself.

I win over 70% in it and do over 2800 dmg per game and I am not ranked in the top 70(because others spot more than me but that is another argument).  The point there is that the tank is one of the best in its tier.  That lots of people have success with it.
