when I am online, I would certainly help fill out a team. Purely to learn from mistakes.

Blartch,

I will play against any clan whenever I am on. :izmena:

I was on last night, but SPUD had a full team, so I worked on getting my 2x on my grinds. I think if you do the math, it is cheaper to battle the top guys in a TR, as opposed to running into them in a random battle.

Yes.  I can typically play from around 9:30 ~10:30/11:00 PM Central... WAF dependent.

I could try and make other times if you know about when they happen...

I am super interested.  If we want to actually play clan wars, anyone seriously interested in being on the team should be trying to make this event.

They are the best.  They will abuse us like freshman up against Varsity.

But you don't learn from playing kindergartners.

Today I went to the bathroom and forgot my phone.

There are 256 tiles in the bathroom...

...and if anybody had TS, they've specifically offered up commentary and advice as we play.  More than worth your silver.  Flexible on tiers as well, in case you aren't at X yet.

Loosely scheduling it from 9pm EDT onward, that's usually when we have 7+ on

Advice and commentary on our gameplay??

Yeah, count me in.   I know some of my faults, but not all of them yet.  I'm sure there's more to find. :-)

Our TS or?  PM me if that's more appropriate.

I had fun last night and would be interested in joining at least a few battles every night.  I'm usually on from 8:30 to 10:00 CST.

I don't have a tier 10 yet so it was nice they accommodated me and dropped one down to 8.

Only problem for me personally is after a few battles it will start to feel like the Generals vs the Globetrotters.  Not saying I can't learn more but after nearly 16K battles I have a lot of bad tanking habits to unlearn first in order to be more competitive at tiers 9 and 10 and not sure if getting continually rekt will be the best method for that.

I queued up just as concep dismissed the room and everyone called it a night. I'll be on tonight, albeit psylently if that's ok. And as SP asked above: who's TS are we gathering on?

Just to elaborate slightly on my original offer to Blartch:

We have a team on every night.  In last night's session I chose maps and flipped teams A and B to make each  play both spawns (and thus learn from each other more and tilt through battles less). You're likely to lose more than you'll win but in terms of being able to face organized opposition and getting feedback and advice within the framework of 7v7 battles (as opposed to random pubbie battles) I think it's a good opportunity. A couple of maps explored in every meeting can go a long way eventually.

So just check if we have a room on, and hop in if possible. If we are playing amongst ourselves or with a random group we will get the hint and shuffle you in. If we don't then message the room admin or Concep/myself/another officer if we are online.

I have been having a strange issue where I cannot join a training room.  I select the room but the "Join" button is not available  After lots of app restarts, iPad restarts, and assumptions that I had been banned for some unknown act.  I discovered that the bug can be resolved by creating a room and then dismissing it.  If anyone else has this issue, creating and dismissing a room will resolve it.

Hi Spudder's,

I read through this topic with interested and wanted to throw my £0.02p (I'm UK Based but on the US server...long frustrating story that one but off topic)

I love platooning and have 3 platoon buddies across 3 different clans that I toon with as often as these flippin time-zones allow. We are generally successful and this is why:

1. We fight together and we die together - We always make sure that one can rapidly come to the aid or offence of the other. There is nothing more satisfying (in WOTBlitz context) than seeing your buddy in trouble and getting over there and blasting (ramming even better) the tank that is giving him/her grief. Staying together avoids isolation and getting picked off.

2. Know your roles well in the platoon and whats expected of you. I predominately (read exclusively) drive heavy tanks so I know my role is get out on the front line and get the enemy to look at me whilst my buddy throws shells into them.

3. Find your platoon tank mix and stick to it.

Some mixes that work well for us are

Tier 5 = KV1 and a T1 Heavy together (at this tier in these tanks with their armour you can just outlast and outblast the opposition)

Tier 6 = KV1S and an M4 (KV1S packs the punch whilst M4 pops away whilst KV1S reloads. Also both are mobile and on occasions the KV1S has hid behind the well angled M4 whilst reloading)

Tier 7 = T29 and T43 or Comet (More difficult to stick together so we keep an eye on map and hit SoS if needed)

Tier 8 = Tiger II and IS6 or Defender with the Tiger II covering whilst Defender reloads. Two defenders also work well as long as you are fast on the quick chat button for reloading so at least one of you has a shell in the tube at all times.

Tier 9 = ST-I and T54 or WT, again difficult to stay together but keep an eye on map and don't get too far apart

Tier 10 = IS7 and Obj, stick together and gang up

Overall principles:

1. Be forgiving, we all have games where we stuff it up

2. Stick together at the lower tiers and be aware at higher

3. Take a minute at the end of each game to have a quick chat

That's it!
