While you have a hell of a lot more experience than I do in this game, we seem to be fairly similar in terms of statistics, yet there's quite a gap between us in this tank:

Some of that gap could be because I tend to run this tank in a platoon -- or it could be the gun -- but ultimately I guess it comes down to personal preference in terms of the gun and the resulting play style.

I do know one thing for sure, as soon as I went to the auto-loader my win rate and stats went way up, but YMMV.

p.s. thanks for the Podcasts and all you do for the community!

A big part of the difference is that I ran a ton of games in the A-20 as one of my first mediums when I was a nooblet. I have only recently pulled the tank out again to rehab it. My 90 day win rate is 72% mostly solo. Not as high as your WR in it - but you are a much better player than I am!

Interestingly - looking at 90 day stats  my average damage is 890 or so while yours is in the mid 700s - so while I'm not claiming it's necessarily better, the "normal" gun is certainly competitive for my play style. A good part of the higher average damage is accuracy, with mine be 85% ish to your 70 ish. Difference is the automatic of course - but my damage per battle, kills per battle, and KD ratio are all competitive with yours in 90 days.

The good news is - pick the gun that works for your play style, because you can do well with either choice. :)

Thanks for the shout out about Tank Boom! :)

Thanks for the response, Leph.  Like you, I ran a bunch of battles with the A-20 on the way up, and really, really struggled with it.   It's speed and my naturally aggressive playstyle got me into all kinds of trouble.  My survival rate was like 20%. lol   Now that I've got more battles under my belt, the speed is what makes this tank work for me.  But I think you're dead on right in that both guns work provided you adjust your playstyle to suit it (or visa versa).  Looking forward to the next Tank Boom.  Take care...Leadfoot

Sorry for reviving this thread... But I'm just wondering about what people think about the A-20 now that the meta's different and new tanks added

is the tier four meta different? have there been new tier fours added? not since the luchs or the japanese tree...

the tank is still strong.

I go in, fire off my burst and turn around back to ally. Its fast as LTTB so you take little damage.

I hate the A-20.  I can't figure that tank out.

I still hate it.

I’ve noticed a strong lack of Spare Parts. Is that intended?

No, it is not. This problem will solve itself with time. Many players have several dozens of vehicles in their Garages, so they don’t have enough Spare Parts for the entire vehicle fleet. But you will gradually collect enough Spare Parts to unlock new slots for purchased tanks in time.

The A-20 is a highly overrated tank and really shouldn't be used by anyone.

I love the A-20 and the t-46, I drive the A-20 like a bigger faster and more powerful T-46.

A-20 hasn't worked much for me but the T-46 is one of my favorite tanks I've ever driven, 10/10

Players who oppose DogFace can feel the cold, metallic, 122 millimeter end of my IS-6’s gun to

their face, and say bye bye to their precious RatBat as their dead body is dragged into a dark

corner to be left for the wolves.

Ive heard numerous posts saying  its a med, its a light. It must be op if I can maintain a good wr in it. Its probably my favorite tank. Very fast, very agile, autogun shreads.

No tank is perfect, but for tier 4, the A20 is my hands down favorite.  Like others, I didn't care for it initially, but now it's my clubbing tank.
