Now I know there are many historical battles for WW2, but I have an idea for Vietnam.  There would be 5 M48 Pattons with the 90mm, 1 M48  Pattonfully upgraded, and either a centurion 7/1, centurion 1, or M46 Patton with m47 turret and 90mm gun.  As for the Commies, The get 4 T54s, 1 Type 59, 1 Type 62, and 1 T62A for balancing issues. (If you don't need it replace with T-54)

This would be fought on the Lost Temple map with the Americans going to town, and the commies going to town and flanking through the swamps. Capping is allowed only if you are in the lead.

Historically the tanks that saw action during the Vietnam War

US

M-48

M-551

ARVN

M-48

M-41

Australia

Centurion

NVA

PT-76

T-54/55

Type 59 ( after the US ground forces had already left circa 1973 onwards).

The only US vs NVA tank on tank engagements were (2-3 instances)

M-48 vs PT-76

There were probably quite a bit of ARVN vs NVA tank engagements during the fall of South Vietnam but there is very limited info on it.

Likely matchups:

ARVN M-48 and M-41 vs NVA PT-76 and T-54/55 and possibly Type 59.

On Wikipedia it shows that the Type 62 was used. Is this correct?

not much info...on actual combat use...the Chinese had their spat with the Soviets then tried to tell North Vietnam to side with PRC which the North Vietnamese said heck no....so very liitle Chinese aid after 1972..

Chinese Type 62 light tank...basically a lightened Type 59 for asian conditions..less armor, 85mm gun instead of 100mm
