Hi guys,

I'm almost done with my AT 7 grind and I'm starting research on the AT 15 so I can start thinking of ways to play it well. I'm looking at the modules and it looks like there are two good guns, the 32-pdr and the 20-pdr Type B guns. 32-pdr has 250 alpha with 214 penetration at 10.17 rounds per minute, while the 20-pdr has 190 alpha with 226 penetration at 14.74 rounds per minute.

Both guns seem pretty good, but I'm leaning towards the 32-pdr gun simply because the alpha damage is higher. The 20-pdr is the same gun on the Caernarvon and I despised that tank, and I feel that alpha damage is more important on a tank destroyer than rate of fire. Also, 214 penetration is still very good at tier 8, and the gun is accurate enough to be able to find weakpoints.

Or should I just skip this tank?

Your opinions? I also attached a poll, so please vote.

I'd rather take the 20 pdr, more DPM (I think), and it has more pen, which lets it use its DPM effectively. The gun handling is a nice bonus as well.

Plus, British tanks are all about the quick-firing guns.

IDK. It's personal preference really. If I were using this tank, I would use the 20 lber simply because of better penetration on APCR (honestly when looking at penetration I should look at gold round pen rather than standard round pen since I have no qualms about using "liberal" amounts of prammo). That will be extremely useful for the heavy heavies (like the E75 and ST-I, although you will probably be helpless against the VK B) which you don't flank and the RoF will be extremely useful for permatracking mediums (or anything, really) that try to get around you.

Like I said, it's personal preference, and keep in mind I don't actually own the tank. :P

I had better luck with the big gun. The higher dpm on the smaller gun often does you no good because if you stand still blazing away, the enemy just blows your hatch off. Better to shoot the big boomer for maximum damage, then you can move into cover or wiggle to protect your hatch between shots. Also, you can one-shot higher hp tanks to finish them and take their guns out of the game immediately instead of having to get in two shots to finish. So often with TDs, you only get one chance at a shot, so best make it a high impact shot. When that medium is racing through the neck of the hill on Mines, are you going to get one shot or two? When that tank on Mirage pops its nose up over the center hill on Mirage, are you going to get one shot or two? I'd go with the big gun.
