ALL NATIONS ARE UP! Please give this a look if you wanted to see the BLITZ terrain resistances. If you would like to know what these numbers mean, use a simple formula: Effective Engine Power= Engine Power/Terrain Resistance

This means the higher the number, the less efficient the engine runs.  Also, a +1 would be appreciated, since all the values are hand typed in. Thank you for checking it out and see you on the battlefield! o7

EDIT: clever_pseudonym corrected my sheet, saying I switched the hard and soft terrains. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Edit: updated for 3.4

Cool. Never knew the T-62A had better terrain resistance than the Obj 140

I never knew the Russian meds were so biased their soft resistance is better than most tanks' hard resistances.

Isn't hard terrain easier to drive on? I thought hard terrain = roads/packed earth, while soft terrain = sand/swamp/etc.

Soo, higher number is better or what?

Is it an arbitrary number or is there some real maths involved?

According to wotlabs forums KurtaMurta,

"Horsepower is divided with terrain resistance. For example, on medium ground T-62a has effective horsepower of 580/0.6=966 HP"

Using basic math, we can conclude that smaller numbers lead to better acceleration and maneuverability.

Like most things in life, you don't want extremes.

Hard is good for level ground, but sucks at inclines.

Notice in game, you can get good speed on flat roads, but you can't climb rocks for crap.

Dirt is better for climbing, but grass covered dirt is always better, etc.

Basically, you don't want something so hard, that you slip over it and you don't want something so soft, that it slips under you.

Your treads need something to bite into  and hold.

There is a max climb angle in the game files too.

that is one set of comparisons that I would really like to see,

cannot seem to make our Churchill's climb anthills, let alone the terrain they were capable of...

tlouie:- Don't forget, this is a game. Any semblance to reality is purely coincidental, and will be corrected in the next update.
