I've been playing a few months and really enjoy this game. I want to improve and I realize I'm going to need help to do that. I've been a member of several clans but there never seems to be much opportunity for platooning, and I understand that to be the best way to improve stats. I would like to find a platoon mate and someone that can offer advice and training. I'm a serious, mature, player.

Very great advice +1. I would go with that and then try the tactics out in battle and if it doesn't work sure go ahead and platoon theres nothing wrong with it.

My Stats

Favorite Tanks: VK 28.01, SU-152, SU-76i Ice Claw, Valentine II, RU 251, Valentine II and KV-1. Currently Grinding: I just want a KV-2

My stats were worst than yours at 5k games played. There is hope. There must some simple game mechanics that you have not assimilated yet. That was my biggest problem then. It would be my pleasure to platoon with you, add me in game if you want to. I would take you to low tier because that is what you need to master before going up. It is also the best place to learn.

Perhaps the most important thing is knowing the most viable strategies for each map for your tank.

All responses sincerely appreciated. Some I understand better than others. At 64 I'm sure I'm one of the older tankers. I still don't know what a "nerf bat" is (as it has been used when talking about tank modifications) or what "OP" means. Now, I have new terms to learn - "dank" (LoweExpectations) and "hmu" (BATM4N21)?

I do watch the YouTube videos, especially those of tanks I run, and they are helpful. I, obviously, read the forum - peruse it several times I day, in fact. More than I should when I have other things I should be doing instead. But, that also goes for game play.

Thank you all.

hmu- send me a platoon invite in-game, means 'hit me up'

or just PM me and ask about game mechanics, etc

Just looked at the Web site. I tyhink my heart fluttered a little bit. Vater likee. I prefer Teamspeak to Discord, so far (seems to work better for me) and I agree, that is the way it should be done. Definitely want to platoon with you and get to know MOM better.

Damn vater,  I had no idea u were looking for toons!  Hit me up whenever u see me on, and I'll be happy to help.  I saw u in discord tonight,  but I was chatting with family so I was on mute.   It has been slower lately,  but it will be picking up later this month during clan wars.

Ill let the deps know you have been looking for toons as well.   Most of us play from 8pm-12am.  Work and family gets in the way over the summer.  Our discord chat goes on daily,  through text while we are all at work btw.  :)

My clan tag? Say it with me.... "door-see-ya".  And yes,   We can all get you reservations.

You coming to the forums is a big leap forward. You can use the advanced search bar to find anything you want to know. Don't use the normal search bar, the one to the right of it is where it's at. Anyway, a good way to get a load of brain food is to watch videos by bushka on blitz and anon___

                                                                                                                          Keep it old school.

I watch both and any others of interest and I'm currently listening to Lephturn's Tank Boom podcast from Episode 1. I get a lot of good information and tips there. Of course, I seem to forget most of them once the battle starts.

I'll second Anon_____ As well as YT, check out his Twitch

http://www.twitch.tv/anonwotb?sr=a

I find watching the longer matches you pick up good game play habits better. The perfect game videos make it out to be easier than it is sometimes. Watching the games where it all goes awry, yet they still pull it out. Those are the teachable moments.

BTW he is live right now

Forgetting to implement what you learned is normal, but over time, it will click. Watch those videos more than once, let it sink in. If you go to YouTube, check out _Whiplash. He was a tanker in real life and has great commentary in his videos. He was one of the first guys making videos and they are still relevant, and he seems to be a really nice guy. Good luck.

I sincerely appreciate all advice and suggestions.

I have to comment, though, regarding some of the YouTube videos. I'll watch them and think something like, "I was in that situation at that same location, except after I made that brilliant shot those 3 tanks rushed in and killed me. Why didn't that happen to him?"
