Hello guys I was just wondering is I should get the is3 or kv4. I have the kv1 and I have enough free exp for any one of them and conciderating the following tanks,  what should I get?

Tips about how I play is that I love tanks like the Black Prince but I hate tanks like the caernarvon. Thanks!

Do not get any of them with free exp.  you won't have fun and will do poorly.  Play all the tanks before them.  I'd start with the T-150.  :great:

The reason why I want the is3 is because it is the ONLY tier 8 that I couldn't penetrate from the front with my bp,  but the kv4 is a lot like the bp

kv4 by far a better choice.  I would even grind STi (free xp the turret and gun)  even while stock at least you have the armor. while is3 is only good when maxed even then it has magical is3 accuracy pattern appearing and disapearing.

I would get kv-4. If you plan on heading even farther into the line(the ST-I and then then is4) I would get the is3. Because having the Stock gun on the ST-I makes the St-1 a horrible tank. You want to at least have the is3 gun.

Anyone who isn't a complete moron knows to go down the IS-3 line before the KV-4 so you don't stuck with a 175mm pen gun at tier 9.

Tier X: Obj. 140 T-62A,  IS-7, Obj. 268, IS-4, FV4202, T110E5. Highlighted = Bought

Most likely to be banned in next couple of minutes

I like the is3, but I'm worried about the is7 and being flanked,  because I heard that the is3 has a very bad turn rate.

I would suggest trying the T-150 before progressing up the line any further. If you don't like the tank, then maybe try out the IS to see if the IS-3 will be a good fit for you. Also save that Free XP for other lines. I found you can never have too much Free XP, especially for someone like you who still has many lines to grind.

Before you venture into tier 8 which is now the hardest level to play in by far watch some videos and learn some basic fundamentals.

is3 = No skill point tank at enemy and shoot for 400 alpha

kv4= planning your direction and sidescraping while doing a modest 300 dmg

I say IS-3 just because its one of the best tanks in the game at its tier. But if you like the Black Prince the KV-4 is pretty good too if you know how to sidescrape. But don't free XP up to them. All the tanks leading up to both the IS-3 and the KV-4 are amazing too

EDIT: Alright after looking at your stats, I suggest you don't skip ANY tanks leading up to your choice. Instead take your time and learn the pros and cons of each tank, and try to get atleast a 50% winrate in each tank before moving to the next one. Also, if you don't know how to sidescrape, I suggest you do. I also suggest fully aiming your shots, your hit rate % isn't the best. Just trying to help:)

Both the IS3 and KV-4 are solid tanks.

The kv-4 will give the heavier play style (slower, bouncer armor) so it takes a little longer to get places. However, the armor is excellent and will get a bunch of bounces. The top gun is a 107mm so 300 alpha damage.

The IS-3 is much more mobile tank (faster, less armor) so mobility will not be a problem. You will get fewer bounces so try to stay hull down or peak a boom. The top gun is a 122mm so 400 alpha damage.

I would suggest grinding through IS and KV-3 as they will both help you with the play style.
