Hi,

I am new to WoTB but am having a great time learning the ropes.  It is obvious that you are much better off with platoon mates rather then random people on your team.  I am looking for practical advise on tank selection and grinding.  I am doing OK but seems pretty random if you are on a good team or a bad team.

I have driven, loaded and shoot a real tank.  I have recovered multiple stuck tanks from swamps of Ft Stewart Georgia and have participated in war games at Ft Irwin.  I even was part of the development of the M! Abrahms tank.   So I should know what I am doing but a game is slightly different from the real thing.

Yo Mike - you can join our Discord server.  We are adults.  We have a good time.  We play well.  Get the Discord app and then PM me.

Welcome to the forums!

Make sure you get to Youtube and start watching Bushka on Blitz, too.

Cheers

Basically what he said, though there are few other things too.

Check out the program that the unicum (or extremely good, one of the best) clan "GRIM" is running. It's called Ride with the Reapers, where they show you just about everything and anything you want to know about the game.

Also, III, or Triarii, are filled with older guys just like you! I'd take reluctanttheist's advice and join their server, all of them are helpful when it comes to learning tactics and such.

One more thing, I'd stick around on these forums. It can be hard to watch people spam the same topics over and over again, but you can and will pick up useful info and terminology that this game uses.

Good Luck!

Mmmm, I like fishyysss...

Ordinarily I would say 501st, but taraii is THE old people clan. Very mature and respected folks. And there are plenty of them

while BLSE doesn't have an age limit, the majority of the more active and social members are older as well. We have 5 or 6 of us in our 40's.... then we balance that out by have Dem0c  :teethhappy:

Like others have said, iii really is the old people clan, or maybe you should say mature people clan :) either way, they are all very friendly and just the fact that all these people are telling you to join them instead of their own clans speaks for itself.

And when they say 'old' that means 30 and up.  And we vet our membership carefully to make sure.

Yep Triarii [III]. One the best best clans in terms of respect, skill, and maturity. I've never seen anyone in Triarii rage + they are all great players.

Good luck and o7 man

Edit: o7 means salute

I started writing code on punch cards!  My first personal computer was a commodore 64 and I paid over $1000 for a Apple IIE when it came out!

I should meet the age criteria!

I am unable to PM since I do not have 10 posts or 30 days since registration.  I have Discord on my tablet and PC.  Should I PM you there?

Mike, you should be able to send messages in-game if that solves your issue for now.

There are many clans that will platoon with you, give advice, etc without any formal process of being an applicant. You're way ahead of things by finding the forums so early so have fun, shoot tanks in the face, and learn a few new things here and there.

[BRSKT] may or may not be recruiting you.

Our Discord is now 46% Dale Doback, 28% Gritty, and 26% folklore.

I highly recommend triarii and its affiliated clans, they are one of the most RESPECTED clans in the game (after all a lot of them are older right?). However they do have quite high recruitment standards, so I would recommend play more games and get to know some of their members, they are usually real friendly and can help you a lot by platooning.

Very cool to see all the respect that Triarii is getting.

If you want a platoon partner, you can add me in game.

Thank you for all your replies.  Well all other then cerinade who I thought was kinda of snaky.  I have join Triarii discord server and have loaded up Teamspeak.  I will follow up on the offers to platoon.  But as cerinade pointed out I have lousy statistics.  However, I also failed my first seven English papers at West Point and yet still managed to graduate in the top third!
