I'm about to upgrade my cell phone, and I'm worried that my thumbs won't learn their new places. Any tips on that? Anybody here switch back and forth between different-size devices (phone and tablet)?

I play on a Google Nexus 4, which is a very nice 2013 phone. It plays Blitz no problem. I'm probably going to upgrade to [X] or [Y] because my phone is old and I need a phone that can do some other tasks. (This is not a what-phone-should-I-buy thread.) Basically, ALL 2016 phones are WAY HUGER than my Nexus 4.

My housemate let me borrow his [X] phone to test it out, so I installed Blitz and lost six in a row. I drove like a moron. My thumbs were in the wrong places. Yes, I went into the settings and moved a few buttons around, but it didn't help much. I was a complete noob.

I'm sure if I played 100 games on a new Gigantiphone, I'd get used to it. But I could become a really terrible player in those 100 games. Any tips on how to make the adjustment faster? Is this something Fennel Stem Powder can fix?

Play tanks and tiers in which performance matters least to you until you think you've adapted.

1. Get an iPad

2. Phones suck

3. Practice circling around a car/box/rock or something that you can loop around

4. Practice snapping into a sidescrape position

5. Practice rocking back and forth (for hull down fights)

6. Practice

1. When sleeping put it under your pillow.

2. During the day keep it in your chest pocket so the radiation is closer to your heart.

3. When playing keep it close to your head so you will get the feeling of being inside the game.

Jokes on side, no one can tell you how to get used to it, every person is different, and everyone is adapting to different things different way. I'd just recommended playing and playing. Your hand's mechanic will get used to it. No big secret...

Edit: Oh and what KS said, get an iPad...

It took me nigh on 100 matches to get used to my new tablet.  It took a bit of fiddling with control size, sensitivity and placement before I got comfortable with it.  I'd say practice with slow heavies (the MK1* would be great right now) until you get some idea of how you interact with it ...
