I voted for winning, but there are pros and cons to both, so I'm kinda neutral when it comes to this.
Winning a lot but having low average damage points to the fact that you’re lucky enough to have a team that’s good enough to carry you all the time, or your platoon rate is EXTREMELY high (70%+). None of these are particularly bad, but they reduce your effectiveness in situations where it’s just you or you and a couple nubs against the majority of the enemy team. High win rate but low damage may also point to the average player driving a lot of lights and mediums, which require a more active role in battle, such as spotting for the team. Is also a red flag warning of the act called seal-clubbing.
Having a high average damage but low win rate points to camping, or a reliance on Tank Destroyer tactics (regardless of whether the player is in a TD or not). This says you are more passive than is required. It may also point to an inability to carry hard enough (my problem right there) in a situation that requires it.
Of course unicums solve the problem by being able to do both effectively and efficiently.
