To be fair, everyone was crying for a Mines rework. Now that we got it, many seem to be crying that it was reworked.

Got what you we wanted- a reworked Mines.

Everyone was crying for a rework to make Mines better. This rework only made it worse. Hence the crying.

Loved old mines map.  One of my favorites.  I miss the map that was last years Halloween map as well.  Apparently was too small for higher tiers.  I had a few battles on old mines where you could win without taking hill but it was much harder and team had to have a plethora of skill.

The two definitions are one in the same. A rework was needed to make it better. The only way it could be made better was through rework.  Except we wouldn't know how the map would turn out before gameplay developed.  When the map was shown in TRs, many appreciated its change.  It seemed like the rework would make mines better, as you are saying.

We we had the time to try out the map. Our fault for buying spoiled milk.

I have quit the game for now.  It is no longer what I began playing in 2014, and while change is not inherently bad, it is also not inherently good either.

God Old Mines was so bad. It was literally an all out slugfest for the hill and it depended on sheer numbers and luck to win rather then proper skill now. New mines might be less hill focused but it still serves a good purpose. Now to go rework Dead Rail

Don't you dare touch my beloved Dead Rail! It is one of the very few original maps that have remained unchanged, and I like it that way!

Dead Rail is extremely dynamic having at least two avenues of attack (I feel there is three) and it is extremely balanced without being a mirror-map.

The new map is absolutely atrocious.

Play a tank with gun depression. This version of mines absolutely requires it.

Totally agree.

If you spawn on the town side. Camp spawn and wait. The hill provides no advantage since you can be shot from all directions. The hill is now like going town in middleburg.

Personally I love the new Mines, when it pops up no matter what tank I am in I can generally feel confident in having a good game, it has given me so many more options to use to my advantage and since I ran around on it like crazy in the training room when it was being tested I know quite a few good spots to go and use. I have already gotten a Kolobanov's on it with the enemy holding the hill, something that on the old Mines would have been near impossible, it's just an all around better map for me, and I've been telling people take some time out and learn the new map and you will start to realize what potential it has.

Old mines was my favorite map and I personally thought that a small tweak to equalizing the Hill approach was all that was needed.  That, and I guess you could put the Yamato or some other ships out into the ocean or something.

New mines is complete trash.

This are you listen DEVS,  one side has a clear advantage of higher terrain even with having the mines hill.  The ramp to Mine seems smaller, the lighthouse is no longer useful and the town area cap is a joke.

Teams just sit and wait for it, or rush their way to it. There is no place to hide and there are no good fighting positions. It feels ole you're exposed no matter where you move. Tanks that are posted up behind bushes or rocks just sit and wait for you to make an appearance. If you rush the hill you're immediately exposed from sniping positions near both spawns. It's too small, there are no places for meds and lights to go get spots without being spotted themselves. I loathe this map.

This.

Everyone still rushes hill because of muscle memory... but hill is a kill box for the TDs that just sit at spawn and camp bush.

The whole area feels way to small.  It just feels like the map shrunk.

But the biggest annoyance is that they just dropped TD camp spots right by each spawn.  I don't care if you want to put some TD spots in the game, but at least make the window lickers drive to them, not just start there, get their tongue warmed up, and start at the glass without even needing the virtual joystick.

Old mines was unbalanced.  It did need a re-work.  The fact that you could get up the hill very easily from only one spawn made it unbalanced.

I didn't think they would make a "hey, just sit at spawn" map though.  It's like saying, "yup, my left side brakes are bad, I need to fix that" and so you take all the wheels off the car.  It won't move, so it doesn't need the brakes.  Problem solved.

Oops, just realized that I uploaded the DRAFT version of that video so it's without music or narration.  Sorry about that

The Borsig game was okay.  Kinda funny when the reds lined up like sardines and I had to choose which one to shoot next.  But THIS game here is why I will truly miss the OLD MINES!

I'm willing to give it a chance, but haven't done well there.

Been considering doing a the SU TD line, and have played some on my son's account. Mines has not been friendly at all to me.

It's like the old Rockfield. I cut my teeth there and knew the map well. Same here on Mines. I'm having to learn a new map. It seems the teams don't know what to do there. There is no continuity.

I'm open to suggestions on the best strategy.
