During my fourth game this morning I was shooting at a Matilda and was well within my view range when the tank disappeared.  Just as the tank disappeared I fired my next round and nothing happened, two seconds later the tank reappeared in the same spot, my range to target less than 200 meters.

That is how the game is tanks disappear when you fire and reappear after the round hits nothing or when they cross open ground they disappear until the get behind cover, I have gotten shot thru buildings, rocks and other cover can't figure that one either, or your shells just bounce all the time. I just think the game is fixed that way just have fun playing. It will not get any better.

It's not a bug. It depends on a couple of factors. If there's any obstruction between you and him. Including trees or bushes. Buildings. Rocks.hills. If they are running a camo net and are stationary and not firing. Etc etc etc.

So many ways a player can increase his camo.   Heck just getting to level six in tank training gets you 18%.   Add a camo net and it just goes on and on.

On top of the tanks basic camo rating.

I think lvl6 camo is the largest influence. Not in ops case, but in general. Yesterday i was invisi-firing at a tiger one at ~245m... In a tog.

Learn the mechanics of the game. If they sit still they have a different camo rating then on the move. If they run camo it adds to the camo value. If they run a camo net then it adds to there camo rating. If they have trained the crew skill then another addition plus each tank as a different camo value.  Just because your tank has a view range of 240m doesn't mean every tank in 240m will show up. If players learned the mechanics and watch videos then we would have to read posts like these.

All I can say is that when a tank is moving toward you and you are moving toward them when you fire at them they should not disappear your shell hits nothing then it reappears and you get shot is some what unfair, don't you think,

Fair ? Unfair ? ... Meh.

The thing is. It works both ways.

As a novice one can argue - and I have when I started playing this game - " I can count the coconuts on the palm tree on Oasis Palms or Desert Sands, but I can't see the tank parked under it ? That's (whatever) ".

The mechanics are what they are. WG will not change them, since they're at the core of WOT.

By the way. Just in case you don't know. If you fire a " blind " shot into where the enemy is/was, and it hits & pens the enemy, it will count the damage for your shot; and if it is a kill shot, it will count the kill.

Allow me to explain.

The matilda has a concealment value, known to many as "camo" value. Basically, it makes a tank harder to detect.

If a tank has no camo value, then it can be spotted anywhere within your effective view range. However, all tanks have some sort of camo value, so without any upgrades, you can't spot any tank within the edge of your view range.

Your tank may not have a maxed out crew, and the less experienced the crew, the less the view range. So when you looked at your tank's view range, you probably thought that the amount advertised in the statistics page was the range in where you could spot any tank. But, if you only have a 75% crew, your effective view range will not be the amount advertised on the statistics page.

So that matilda was probably spotted by an ally, but you were thinking that your own crew spotted it. Then the matilda moved out of the ally's view, and it became unspotted, and your view range wasn't enough to see the matilda with it's camo value. A few seconds later you spotted it with your view range, as it got close enough for your view range to see through it's camo.

The Matilda moves so slow I'm sure it could keep its camo net activated while moving. :p

I don't think it's unfair. If that opponent has the crew camo skill to become invisible at that range then good on him. Blind shots still hit and do damage. I blind shoot known camping spots all the time. If it doesn't hit you know it and if it does you can tell as well.

Maybe you need to install coated optics or binocs on your tank if you want to see better. There's ways to keep tanks insight. Understand the game mechanics. You have 6000+ games.

And stop playing tier 8 and 9 till you get a better understanding for you and your teammates sanity.

They reappear when they fire because firing your gun reduces your camo value.

Go watch bushka on blitz youtube channel. It will help you.

Does having camo netting work on a moving tank within 200 meters?
