Isn't that counterintuitive?
Everyone is doing the contest to avoid paying the $30 price tag.
There has to be a better way around this.

Yes you can. Last year we had someone do one for 4 different products.

This is how it's always been. If you win a contest and own the tank, you get the value back. Some people are trying this simply to win the tank that they might not have access to currently. The value is the same either way.

But people are competing to get a free T54 mod 1. If they do not win, they cannot buy the tank (as the sale is over).

Last year my ornament cost me WAYYYYYY more than the price of the E25 #1 that I won in time and energy alone. Without sounding like a jerk here- if you're in this contest "for the money" you're pretty much guaranteed not to win. They want creative ornaments that are well done out of the love for the game... if you're doing this to save $30... you're probably not going to come up with one of the 5 most creative submissions.

If you're worried about it, just buy the tank then and get the free gold equivalent if you win. Kind of a win-win?

I'm guessing you completely missed my first post. You'd then know what I mean.
o7o7,
This isn't about money. It's about the screwed up dates. If you spend $30 on the tank, then around X amount of money for the ornament just to receive gold value, then go for it. But I'd rather not double spend, and go one route.
For $30 and a bit of creativity you can come up with a very good and a very original ornament, maybe even less. But if one decides to spend extra on tank models, and extra props, then of course it's gonna cost them more.
I'd like to go the funner and cheaper route of making an ornament, but I also don't want to risk not making it and not having the tank until next time they decide to sell it. All I'm saying, this could have been thought through better so people that attempt this contest don't get screwed over.

Niko, how about rewarding all participants with something small? It would a) show that you appreciated their ornament, b) encourage more people to participate, and c) be a little reimbursement for the shipping everyone has to pay. I'm not sure what shipping costs are, but maybe a couple days premium or some gold would make people more willing to try the contest out.
What do you think?
I was thinking something like that, maybe a 5$ gold package, you know, to off set the shipping charge, lol

I was thinking the same way, of course i think i will have a great design worthy of winning, but i want this tank, i dont want to buy it then win, i already have 21k in gold, dont want or need 30$ more. the tank shouldnt have hit the market until after the contest was done, or vice vera.

I have two different accounts. One on the NA server, and one on the EU server. Does this mean I can make two ornaments, one for each account?
