Hi NCRanger24,
That's a really good point. Capping has its place, but like you said, when there are two low-health enemies and six friendlies, it's not the time to sit on cap.

I don't know, I wouldn't add that in as a "100% of the time you should do this" kind of scenario. I had a game yesterday on Lost Temple where the remaining 4 players on my team were all heavies or slow TD's, and the remaining 1 on the red team was a fast medium who could easily outrun all of us. The best strategy there WAS to cap and make them come to us. There was no way I was going to run him down in my KV-4. :)

Thanks, Kaylis! Glad to hear you found it useful. I'll be adding a "tank terminology" section sometime today as well. Happy tanking!

Happy Friday, guys and gals. I just updated the beginner's guide to include Tank Terminology. If you see any errors or discrepancies in the new section (or anywhere in the guide for that matter) please let me know and I'll get them fixed. Thanks!

T yours to use and abuse.
Platoon Tactics. Joining a platoon has several advantages but to fully utilize them you must master some simple platoon tactics.
1. Slow Tank Leads. The slow tank leads, the trail tank wings either left or right depending on the terrain and enemy situation. This allows the lead tank to utilize it's bigger gun upon enemy contact. The trail tank is free to use its speed to manuaver to a position of advantage.
2. Targets. Goal is to create as many 2v1 engagements as possible. 2v1 engagements allows the platoon to use its superior firepower to finish the enemy as quickly as possible. In the even the platoon is hit by a swarm attack, trail tank hits the enemy tank being engaged by lead tank. The purpose of this is to take down at least one enemy, for the benifit of the team.
3. Basic Pincer Tactic. It is difficult to engage an enemy in a 1v1 engagement when there is cover between you and the enemy. In this type of engagement the trail tank will move in the opposite direction of the lead tank. The will split the enemy's attention it's also ensures that one platoon member will have a clear shot into the enemy's softer rear. Again use superior firepower to end the engagement soon as possible.
4. Low Point Tank. In the event the lead tank becomes very low on hit points due to damage, then trail tank takes over lead. Purpose of this is to help protect the low point tank and keep him in the game as long as possible.
In any event good luck and have fun

Great write-up & repped
I've been learning some of this stuff the hard way. Trying to implement a couple of the ideas / strategies through tidbits here and from being a spectator after getting killed off.
I seem to have great difficulty with tracking. Any pointers on that?
Targeting weak spots on bigger tier vehicles also has seemed to be largely ineffective, could be due to angle of attack/firing, but I've found myself within a square with big tanks and doing 0 damage in grey areas that are dead-on. Premium ammo required?
