the thing is yes russian mediums are great, but they still dont make crappy playere great......i see more bad players than good players driving russian mediums.  the average player watches the twister cup sees that all the great players drive them and drive them well so for suuuuuuuure they need nerfed.  the average player grinds to the T-62a/Obj140 and sees that its not all that easy to play tier 10 and get owned in them.  great players make them look superior, because THERE SKILLS ARE SUPERIOR.

Quoted for the Truth.

But also keep in mind about competition play versus pubbie matches.

Competitive play has whole teams on voice comms.

Running a solid line of Obj-140's give you several advantages.

You are all high DPM, good mobility, decent armor tanks.

No one out runs the other, you wolf pack and you are harder to single out.

It is also hard to say focus the Obj-140 when there are 7...

You never see 7 Obj-140's a side in pubbie matches, and most you do see are run by potatos.

WG made a bad move. Nerf'ing any medium is going hurt the game and hurt the poorer players even more than good players.

It's been said multiple times about the maps, and WG can do a simple fix for further competitive tournaments and limit max tanks/nation at 2 each nation.

Done problem solved. Let's keep ranting about the next issue

I think 5.5 was good for the game - But I also want my Kenny OP nerfed.
Sorry I haven’t aced the Smasher yet - So I’m still ruining tier 6-8

We don't know that yet, it's only a speculation as of now. While poorer players may perform even worse in mediums after the change, they might at least have enough common sense to switch to some other tank after noticing same old same old hasn't been working to well recently.

Maybe then, more diversity would be forced into the higher tiers, from which anything can happen. A wider range of vehicles used in Tier 10 could either become a curse or blessing; teams might become more susceptible to destruction or there will be a lot of brawls ending in stalemates.

One thing I do suspect will follow the medium nerf is the Death Star's rise to the throne amidst the power struggle. That thing will be the next "IS spam" phenomenon.

Sweden, vast contributions to modern warfare?

Nope.    While that was a factor for them it wasn't a constraint for the rest of the world

Most NATO MBT's where designed for the Fulda Gap scenarios.

It wasnt just bridges, it was mobility as a whole.

NATO MBT:

M1 Abrams: 60 tonnes

Leopard 2: 62 tonnes

Challenger II: 62 tonnes

AMX Leclerc: 57 tonnes

C1 Ariete: 54 tonnes

and just for fun:

T-90: 46 tonnes

I'd say these are all medium tanks, by WoTB gauge.  What in the Fulda Gap limited tonnage to >65 tons?  I'd say roads and bridges.

But, to your point, I'll agree. Some of these roads, towns and bridges are narrow/ tight, so a smaller, more maneuverable tank might be an advantage.

Do not forget shipping by boats, train and plane. NATO basic stragety in the 70s and 80s needed REFORGER to happen. Marines need tanks that fit in landing craft.

I was about to add this.  Watching the new Inside the Chieftain's Hatch on the M4A1 and he mentions that cranes at the time (no roll in, roll out) had a max capacity of 40 tons, so US tanks needed to be designed lighter than that to enable shipping across the oceans.  However,  the M26 Pershing weighs 41.7 tons.  I wonder how it was shipped?

lol.  That's one of my pet peeves. Tons, tonnes, short tons, metric tons, etc. if you have different measurements, just give them different names.

IMO they shouldn't be nerfing the tanks that are overperforming, rather buffing the ones that are underperforming.

The Pershing was first shipped a number of years after the M4A1. Most likely had time to make modifications.

It’s actually interesting to revisit this thread. Your average tier X team is now 4 TDs, a Maus, an IS tank, and a very poorly played yolo leo. Tier X is pretty bad these days...

Solution? Un-nerf mediums!

It is interesting to take another look at this thread, but I think undoing all the nerfs will just topple us over back to the other side. There has to be some balance in between what is going on now and what tier 10 was like back in the day.

This is the problem with the vast multiplayer games now in Pc, Iphones or consoles. There is a time where devs reach the limit and really don't know what to do or how to balance the game. "We "nerf Stuff A" and buff "stuff B"" and then : "People start winning more with stuff B so we nerf it and buff Stuff A" and after time: " We created Stuff C to balance" And the cycle continue over and over and OVER again and again. Happens in MMORPG Like World Of Warcraft, League O Legends, Overwatch ect, And even in small ones Like Mortal Kombat.I Play all of those game and quit playing most of them due the sheer idiocy of the devs and the people complaining. And the HUGE amount of time spending in "updating patches" that takes away your time. There's only few games that don't need to many patches and works "Ok" and balanced. In the meantime I'll relax. This is a new era problem that Gen Z people have to resolve in the future.
