First of all, most things can pen an IS-3's upper plate. Second of all, I have the same exact penetration on the IS-6, and I do amazing in it, including tier 9 games. Explain please.

And I think you're remembering the glory days of your Cromwell a little wrong ...  it's actually stat wise one of your worst tanks.   I would even say you struggled in it.

 

Stats obviously wouldn't be great if you were yoloing around the map and ramming people while going 64 kmh [edited].

On the contrary when you're the one trying to carry in an Object 140 you would have the same brain-damaged clueless players on the enemy team, but would rather have them in IS-3s or Pershings that can have problems penetrating you while you focus down people that can, or in tier 9/10 tanks which would exponentially increase the chances of them spelling your end?

Another textbook case of MadCuzBad. People the likes of you are why I pretty much gave up trying to help anyone improve. 

 

It's absolutely hopeless when people don't understand simple game balance. If same tier tank destroyers i.e. Borsig can't penetrate heavy armor then what is there to stop an all out heavy push? 

 

As for your T28 Proto issues, obviously you forgot the first thing they teach you in the basic tutorial to tanking.

+2 was demoralizing for me as a newish player and always being low tier.  Although I wonder why tier 8 isn't +2, of course some tier 8 tanks would have to regain their preferential mm.

I ground a large portion of my tanks to Tier VIII and some to Tier IX in +/-2 and hated every minute of the grind but enjoyed the tanks once they were maxed. THat doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the game. Only thing I hate about the new MM is the nerf that the pref mm premiums got. 

 

Was it fun being a -2? Most of the time it wasn't until I was maxed and then it was challenging and fun.

 

The new mm? Meh....You learn to adapt just like you do when they nerf a tank. If you can't adapt, you aren't that great of a player IMO.

Again note that most act as if +/-2 MM was the devil.

 

The fact is that +/-2 MM;

--> Increases damage to be farmed

--> Rewards skill more

--> Truthfully makes the game more interesting

--> Beat a scrub so hard that they would uninstall

--> Demonstrated exactly why you should go to a higher tier, and retain intelligence

Once again showing that +/-2 is viewed as awesome sauce by the great players in the game. Those at the top of the pyramid. And not so much for those that make up the larger, base of the pyramid, those who are trying to learn, and get better at the game. It's no fun being crushed by +2 gods. EVERY FREAKING TIME YOU PLAY. Sounds like a miserable experience for the LARGEST section of players in WOT.

That is precisely one of the reasons why you are seeing +/- 1 now.

I enjoyed +2/-2 and remember how great it felt to over-contribute as low tier and truly put myself in the support role and how invincible I felt as top tier (and also responsible). However, the reason I prefer +1/-1 is due to the necessity of being able to carry in order to keep your WR up. If you are bottom tier in a +-2 battle, then it may simply be impossible for you to carry your team, making you more reliable on those players who were selected at "random" to be your allies. . . . Does anyone remember the frustration of having your only top tier tank be AFK or a yolo or totally stock? +1/-1 makes AFKs less impactful (not entirely so, obviously), and it allows any player in any tank to carry the day if they are good enough to do so. That is why +1/-1 is superior in blitz. So long as we have 7 member teams with possible AFKs, yolos, stock tanks, crappy internet connections, low WR toons (which all but guarantee a high WR toon on the other team), and so on, I'm fully behind +1/-1.

Pretty much every decision WG makes has to do with their business interests.    A lot of if has to do with recruiting new players and keeping them playing instead of giving up.    -/+ 1 is easier for them so that means the chances are greater for them to spend money. Therefore,  solely a business (financial) reason.

Honestly I view +1/-1 mm as the Russian Revolution in Blitz. The part of the system that benefited the top percent of players was gotten rid of and  a new system that benefits the majority was implemented. Unlike the Russian Revolution, it worked and we're now at a level of prosperity that WG has events were you can win either free premiums, and missions that give you the ability to get gold and premium time. Also YOU CAN ACTUALLY MAKE MONEY! Games are a credit sucker anymore. You don't have to spam Gold ammo to do effective damage and you'll earn more xp and damage which equals more credits. I remember grinding in tier 6,7 and 8 and I sucked. I bled credits and only had a good game once in a blue moon. Tier 6 was the worse tier for me because you have the chance of getting games with IS-3s and 6s. You either had to have a good team or a bunch of premammo on you to even help with the team. Yes the wins were epic and the carrys even more so but that only a fraction of games. The majority is either mediocre or downright horrible games that made you want to throw your tablet. Those don't happen anymore and tier 6 is one of my favorite tiers. I never got to enjoy the paradise that was tier 10 but it's a small trade off for having a more enjoyable mid tiers and increasing the amount of people playing this game.

Favorite tanks: E-75, Cromwell, Nashorn, KV-2, SU-152 and the Shinob

Lines currently grinding: AMX 50B, Obj. 268, E50, T110E5, & JagdPanzer E-00

Completed lines: STB-1, E-100

+1/-1 MM is better for tier 5-6 IMO. They just suck when facing tier 7-8, but other than that I think it doesn't really matter.
