I'll keep it short and sweet

im nearly finished my cent 7/1 grind. Is the fv4202 worth it? ive watched 5 different vids on it and liked what i saw. The only thing is- what if WG decides to add the better tank - Centurion Action Ten - in the game? The cent AX is 100% better than the fv4202, and i would hate to buy the fv 4202 and then cent AX gets added. Should i wait for an announcement on the Centurion action x? or go ahead and buy fv4202 now?

If you really like being a support medium, and one that has better hull armor than turret armor, then this is the tank for you. The turret will rarely bounce, but to other mediums, your hull is the bounciest of all (which is rare for mediums) From what I have seen, it can be a good tank, but it has a wierder playstyle. You can't be a rusher, instead, hang back and be a supporter. I have not heard of Wargaming adding the Centurion Action Ten to the game, nor do I think they will for a while. If you want it, get it. I don't know if you have any tier 10's, but if you don't, be warned that it is costly to buy and maintain one. Ammo is not cheap. Keep atleast 2,000,000 extra credits before buying one for equipment cost and all. The most expensive equipment for a tier 10 is 600,000. That adds up quickly when you buy 3 of those. Anyways, hope this helps, and good luck on the battlefield! Happy hunting :)!

FV4202 is an interesting tank with an unique play style. If played correctly, u can do over 3k damages per game.

It is also a good training tank, focusing you to play the true medium role.

If youre worried, see how hard it gets hit with the nerf bat first. Either way its a great tank. Tbh if i was in a cw vs anyone other than a big forum clan, i would take it over the russians. Especially post-bat. Yes the AX may be better, but that implies that re-grinding 7/1 is a bad thing

The only issue is when your doing 4k dmg in a game playing 'it correctly' and your team melts you then get mashed.

Its a very tough tank to play.   It has a great gun (but like the 7/1 no High Pen Prammo) and can clobber folks.

But unless your at max gun depression on a ridge the turret isn't doing much - it was a LW No Mantlet Chieftain.

A lot of noobish Meds will go for your hull you can bully those ones but against a skilled red your toast in a brawl without some fancy footwork and a little RNGesus help.

My biggest issues come in figuring when it's time to join the front line to ensure the team doesn't meltdown.  To early and your a goner.  Too late and your a goner

for Fv4202
Turret can be a troll only when its using the whole 10* of gun depression

since auto aim attaches on to Hull it trolls people that way too.

still holds the quick acceleration and amazing Prem Hesh rounds (i have stopped using cheap hesh cuz i cant handle it in close situations)

as prem hesh stands, it can be used in so many circumstances ..almost every game i find myself using 4-5 prem hesh rounds with 90% confidence of doing having 420 rolls

Surely FV420 is harder to play, i look it as a little brother of leopard1, but it brings a whole new perspective to tier10 med game play.  I like mine and run it with only Prem HESH to get the lolz dependability.

If Cent Action 10 gets introduces then for sure i would be playing that, assuming HESH stays the same.  play style would be different and looking forward to having it.

until Action X gets introduced i would recommend getting in on the wagon to fv420 and test the prem hesh in training room once you do get it (its eye opening)

Good luck with FV its really fun to play

I'd stop at the 7/1.  The 4202 just doesn't compete.  As Crusader says, it is very tough to play and relies on the team too much. . I would love to love it,  but I don't.  I'd rather be in a 140, M60,  or stb.

Thanks for all help! i will finish grinding out remaining 70k exp and buy fv4202. If the AX does get added, the cent 7/1 isnt a bad grind anyways :D

Hopefully it performs in CW too.

fling HESH at broadside krauts light how a monkey throws its own crap. You will get tons of damage done per game, but don't expect to win very many of them. THIS TANK CANNOT CARRY IN A 1v# SITUATION!* With no turret armor, play it as either a 2nd line support tank or if you have balls of steel and the skill to match it flank around and hit the rears of enemy TD's, mediums, and most American tanks.

Results may very

*it can carry, but it is much harder to than in an obj 140 or IS-7.

I rarely use HESH - as I tend to low roll on it 9/10 times

Back of a E5, 185 dmg.

Side of E50, 57 dmg.

Grille front, 102 dmg.

I will HESH another FV4202 on the face and low roll while he will 475 me.

Despite that it has my highest tier X medium avg dmg.

But not the highest WR as it trails my M60, M48, 140, and E50M only beating my T-62 and Leo1

If you like the Centurion 7/1 then I say go for it.  People will say a tank is trash but that doesn't mean it will be trash for you.  I don't have any problems with the FV and really the only complaints are about its turret and no HEAT.  You already have a tank with no HEAT so if you can make that work (with its slow reload) then you can probably make FV work.  None of the British tanks have great turrets so if you're used to that already you probably won't be in for any shocks with the FV.  The acceleration, accuracy, and damage potential are great in this tank, so I recommend it based on its strengths.

But you should wait until 3.6 is out to see if WG nerf it?
