I just came back from a battle where this happened

i was the sole survivor or a fight on dead rail. I was fighting a Victory. Then a KV-1S appeared. I shot at ot but it either missed or bounced off. Then it just one shoted me from 364 (estimate) HP. How can an upgraded bucket of bolts be THAT powerful? I don't know what to do. The KV-1 is what I am trying to get rid of now because of all of the losses that I am having.

Dude you need some serious help in learning how to play. Watch some YouTube vids! Hilarious it says you want a maus. Maybe try getting good at tier 3 first

The KV-1 is one of the best tier five heavys. Watch tutorial videos or return to lower tiers to practice and learn how to battle.

For provisions I have normal fuel and advanced fuel and milk

for equipment I have vents, spall liner (I wonder why it did not work when I needed it:sceptic:) and gun laying drive

With the KV-1, use your tracks to absorb the damage from enemy shots. You want to try side-scraping and angling your tank, kinda like this:

It's a simple tactic that works well with a lot of tanks, especially with heavy tanks. The KV-1's turret is also pretty strong, so try hiding the flat sections of armour on your hull (they're your weakspots). The KV-1 has a short-barrelled 122mm gun which can deal lots of damage but can't penetrate thick armour. The KV-1S has a 'long-barrelled version' which can deal lots of damage and penetrate thick armour. This is balanced by having poor accuracy, and long reload and aiming times.

When fighting a KV-1S in your KV-1, you'll be able to get a few shots in at the KV-1S while it reloads. You may want to load some APCR rounds to help with penetrating its armour.

Feel free to invite me to a platoon if you'd like some help with the grind. Good luck!

Yeah. I just took a look at your stats man. Wowzwers!

Here are some ideas for you. You need to not go any higher on your tank list. Your KV-1 is in big trouble. 100+ battles in it and 37% win rate. First things first. Watch some YouTube videos if you can on the KV-1. Type in WoT Blitz KV-1 and check some out. Make sure you are using all the upgraded parts for that tank. Learn how to angle that tank man. It's gonna help you out! The KV-1 is a good tank for you to learn in. It can take a lot of damage and will help you learn how to bounce shots and not take as much damage. Don't bother using HE for the time being until you learn how that stuff works.

Run Vents, Rammer, and Gun Laying Drive for now. That spall liner ain't helping you much.

Run all the fuels.

Angle, angle, angle!

That is a heavy tank. Not a medium!

Watch videos and try try mimic what you see! It will help you on your Blitz journey.

You have slighly average frontal armor, but really good side armor ( other words. SIDESCRAPE )

Also, being a soviet also means no yoloing into the reds, and keeping close to the meds ( if any ) or your team. Its a pretty easy tank to use, especially fully upgraded.

Yeah I love those things. Gun depression so it could barely hit me. If you ever see me on enemy team or on your team tell me. I fight them like a medium with the KV-1. But they can be dangerous from a distance. They make good teammates

BRUH.

The KV-1 is EASILY one of the best tanks in the game. I remember having some really epic games in it, and a number of aces. And it has one of the highest win rates of all my vehicles. I know that without even looking. You just have to learn how to use it properly, and probably just heavies in general. Once you learn how to side scrape, angle, and wiggle effectively, you will love it. If you get the hang of those techniques, you will deflect TONS AND TONS of enemy shells, especially in that tank at that tier. Really try to never pop out sideways on an enemy(exposing your flank at a 90 degree angle), just to get a shot, unless it is absolutely necessary. And never pop out to get a shot, if you are going to take a shot from more than one enemy. Those are bad habits, and you will get wrecked. Angle, re-angle, and wiggle. Keep you weak spots hidden, angled, or moving. If you do these things, your enemies will have a much harder time penning you, and you will lots more fun.

Happy tanking.

If you're having problems with the KV-1 it's literally just because you're bad

The KV-1 is incredible any problem you have with it can only be attributed to player fault.

KV1 is one of my favorite tanks, no doubt it does struggle some when low tier since its maneuverability is poor. But all in all it is a good tank once you get the hang of it.

I have had this thing for weeks (or even maybe over a month!) and I am starting to get a hang of it. But I don't know how to sidescrape. I am doing toons with Leadf00t (you may know him) and he is giving me pointers. And I am getting a bit better at the KV-1. I take the title back. It is NOT a bucket of bolts!

Sounds like someone had their first encounter with the legendary KV-1S.

The KV-1S is pretty famous for having a massively powerful gun. It's 122mm deals 400 damage per shot and has 175mm of penetration on its standard rounds (same as the tier VIII IS-6 and Glacial 112). Destroying a KV-1 with 360 HP in a single shot is no problem. Even when angled, the KV-1 will be unable to bounce a shell from the KV-1S unless placed at a ricochet angle.

However when fighting it your best bet is to take advantage of the long reload (It takes like 20 seconds) so you can fit in about 2 or even 3 shots for a single one of his.

When using the KV-1 against same tier or lower tier opponents, the turret will be immune to most tanks, and the hull when angled can also bounce shells. You can also use the good damage per shot of 200 (compared to 160 on most tier V's) to bully enemies

And if you thought the KV-1S was powerful, the KV-2 has a 152mm gun, which can deal 640 damage per shot with AP or 960 with HE.
