The IS-7 was already extremely difficult to penetrate with any medium tank that I own but it is now more trollish than ever. I "bounced" two shots directly into the side of one with APCR in my STB-1. The IS-7 has 150mm of side armor and the STB has 245mm of APCR penetration. APCR does NOT get absorbed by spaced armor. ANd the IS-7 was not angled. This was in a 1v1 with me having 400 more hitpoints than him. I penned 2 and "bounced" 2 and he dropped adrenaline and killed me with 1 hp left. more Russian bias please

my point is if you are going to nerf the tanks that are meant to flank and and circle the enemy heavy tanks, the enemy heavies need to be pennable in the sides and rear. There is a reason the IS-7 is used in clan wars, because just like the 140 it's overpowered.

You shot the spaced armor. Aim below that and it's an easy pen even with tier 7-8 guns.

Aim between the tracks on the rear wheel. It tends to penetrate easier than other locations for me.

Forget that the pike nose is actually VERY weak if angled improperly ( and very penatrable to an FV183 and the JPE100)

Haven't had trouble so far.  It's just one of those tanks that has been so common for such a long time that pretty much all its weak spots are known to me.

you need to open up armor inspector and learn how to pen the tank. It's far from op, and you should be able to pen it with standard ammo from most angles under ~60°

But not by that much. The spaced armor on the IS-7 is something like 50mm thick.

here's the thing though, that's all fine and dandy if you have time to aim for the "nonspaced" armor. But in the example I'm talking about, I was circling the IS-7 and didn't have time to stop on his side and aim perfectly. If the side armor is setup so that you have to stop and aim for a specific location, that's overpowered.

You are literally shooting a 90 mm armor plate from above. Also add the 60 mm plate

The 90 mm plate is atleast 60 degrees and shooting it above

90/cos(63) is about 190 to 200 ish

Add the regular 60 mm plate which is mostly flat due to shooting it from above  you h ave 250 mm of side armor. Also add the penetration loss between armor
