Hello All,

 

I'm in need of some clarification on the crew skills and crew xp boosters.  I installed a crew xp booster on a tank with a crew mastery of 78%.  After the battle, the itemized xp list showed the increased crew xp awarded.  However, I'm thinking this was wasted.  Please confirm whether my thoughts are correct:

 

You need 100% crew mastery to train crew skills.

You need crew xp to train those said skills.

A booster will increase the crew xp from a battle, and apply this to your crew skills.

Crew xp does NOT affect your training of crew mastery.

Therefore, crew xp rewarded on a tank of less than 100% mastery is wasted,

and crew xp boosters used on said tank are worthless.  

 

Is this this logic sound?  If so, does this game mechanic seem poorly designed?

Crew skills booster goes onto crew exp which first trains a crew to 100%. The booster helps the crew get to 100%. I got over 8k exp from one battle with the booster towards my m4 45's crew, ti went up by 4%.

There does not seem to be any truth to this, but I could be wrong. I tested this on my 78% crew T-34-85.   After using two 250% crew xp boosters and winning two battles, my crew reached 79%.  Could you link some literature or other proof of this mechanic?

You are wrong, although the boosters are a rip-off when it comes to event prizes. The efficacy of boosters is completely dependent on how well you perform when activating them. As opposed to free XP prizes in past events that were far superior in utility and value. The amount of boost hinges directly on the amount of base XP/crew XP you acquire. If you net 1 crew xp point, the 250% boost will max it out to what, 2.5-3.5?

 

The boost in conjunction with premium time can really make a difference, though. I've used the boosters for the last 10 games In the T-34-85 during this event, and the crew XP went from 82% (if memory serves me right) up to 98%. It helped that I decided to toon and ran good this session, and I'm just 30 games total into the T-34-85 grind.

Thank you both for clarifying.  The 250% boosters yielded about 2300 crew xp each, times two to equal a 1% increase in my crew mastery.  I will continue to experiment with them.... but wouldn't it be nicer to see a "crew xp" status bar when grinding your crews mastery?

 

EDIT: This morning I ran that tank with a 60% booster and a x3 bonus.  This yielded over 4,100 crew xp, and my crews mastery rose from 79% to 81%.  I was skeptical but this does seem to be working. Thank you two again for setting me straight!

elite XP = crew XP ? after 100% , is not elite XP used to train crew skills , i have yet to actually figure out where the "crew XP" is listed at all . it does not seem to be in the game at all.

i have yet to notice any difference in gaining elite XP by using crew XP boosters , however they do seem to go towards crew mastery up to 100% , though that is not for sure
