I'm using rammer and vents right now and doing so far so good, but I don't know what to put on the 3rd slot. I was thinking about GLD because the aiming time isn't very good, or optics to improve the not so great view range.

Thoughts?

Depends on play style, if your more agrresive, get GLD, but if up your more passive get optics.

think you have that backwards. if youre playing aggressive, you'll actually be able to make better use of your optics, and most likely wont be leaving yourself sat still for the gld to kick in.

optics btw, op. i used the 105 and didnt feel the need to switch for better handling, if you use the 90mm there is no need.

if it had a vstab, thatd be different.

I use the 90mm and I will most likely stick with it. I'll probably put optics but I'll wait for more replies, thanks!

my hit rate is a solid ten points lower than the players around me on the charts.

i only have a half dozen games with the 90mm, but its notably more reliable, for the shots i found myself taking.

Rammer, vents, opt. I'm on the move so I need to see and get some. But that's me.

GLD only works on a stationary tank and turret (unlike the vet stab) so for this tank I would say NOOOOOO. unless you like sniping from a distance as you don't have the armour to sit still aiming.

If you are a sniper I would suggest swapping vents for full rations (not much difference) and using that slot for binocs too.

I use the Rammer, EGLD and Coated Optics for Equipment. For provisions I use the Protective Kit and Improved Fuel.

I have a 65% WR and 1 Raisin after 172 matches.

Works for me.

It's a choice between optics and GLD. I chose GLD because I prefer not to go aggressive in this tank, and it helps with medium range sniping, but optics work great as well if you play it more like a true heavium.

I use Binocs on most my tanks now with Vents and Rammer.  I learned a tip from someone who told me privately cause saying this gets you spit roasted on the forums.  I do that cause when I'm 1-4 I want to be able to drive up and spot the reds then drive off deal with them one by one.

I don't use GLD on any tanks cause you can't have your tracks moving.  And in any tank what's the point?

The GLD only works when stationary??????    I did not know this.   It does not state this ingame like it does with the camo net. I believe you but how do we know this? Is it written somewhere or has it only been proven in training rooms. Can not find it stated anywhere by WG. Thanks

GLD makes your aiming faster, and you start aiming when you are stationary. A bit obvious.

Knew it made my aiming faster. I did not know I had to be stationary. A bit obvious?? Obviously it wasn't to me thats why I asked. Still don't know where it states this.

Ingame binocs and camo say you have to be stationary.  GLD does not.  Now if it is obvious to see this while you are playing the game then I need to get better. Thanks and GL

WG doesn't tell us in-game about terrain resistances, but we know they exist.

If you are trying to confuse me it's working. Lol. Saw another post that the GLD works after you stop, that's good enough for me for now. Will continue reading the forum it's where I find a lot of info. Thanks for your help. GL in your battles

Someone turned me onto Binocs recently.  If you are 1-3 it helps you spot cause you sure ain't chasing anyone down in that tank.  They aren't to be underestimated.

There are multiple posts from a while back about it. and some good info gotten from WOT. to take things to a basic level the Vert Stab does everything a GLD does but you can move, either the turret, the gun or both. The ELG only works when you are perfectly still.  they even stacked them to test it. it was all far too deep for my interest but the result was if you can add it always get a Vert Stab. If you drive a TD the GLD could be beneficial as you kemp bush if you're smart but if you have a turret then unless you drive like a turretless TD it's kind of pointless.

Best advice is, now you can swap equipment around you should try different set ups to see what works best for your style.

I'm running vent's, rammer and optics and I just lost a game coz I got spotted by a Fury and killed before I spotted him. It was 1 0n 5 but I'd made it 1 on 3 with the fury on a 1 shot and no idea about the last  2 tanks. I may try bino's or actually add some rations to boost view range a touch more. it was a DD player who got me tho and one of the remaining tanks was his toon mate so I doubt I'd have pulled it off.

Was V disappointed at the lambasting by a certain weather related feeder clan platoon after the game who acused me of hiding and sucking in heavies. Very telling that he owned 1 heavy running at 20% and everything else was a med.

He'd not attempted the French line so had no clue how unwieldy these things are in anything but a straight line.

Thanks for the help in understanding the GLD. What you say makes sense to me. Will check out the video on it also. Agree that it seems useless now on a tank with a turret. GL and thanks again
