The T-43 Is a Russian tier 7 Medium Tank

 

       Basic Characteristics :

            Cons:

            Poor Armor

            Only place a tier 6-7 may bounce is its Gun mantlet

            Mediocre Pen

 

  Pros :

           Little to unlock

           Very fast

           Very fast ROF (Rate of Fire)

            Very good at flanking

The Armor  

       The Hull :

               Armor is 75 mm front back and side of the tank and is angled increasing its effectiveness. But don't plan on bouncing shot most things which shoot at you will automatically pen you except in un-ordinary situations. The armor can be angled to deflect shots of lower caliber.

 

        The Turrets :

Overall the mod. 1943 is better due to the increased armor and the ability to mount the top gun. It has the best overall turret armor of tier 7 mediums.

               This tank has a top speed of 51 km/h and has no problem getting to this speed or maintaining it. It is the second fastest tier 7 medium currently in game. Combined with the good traverse speed and RoF this thing has the ability to CoD and flank and spank

My feelings about each gun

 

 85 mm ZiS S-53 : mediocre gun belongs on the T-34-85

122 mm U-11 : don't use it, just don't

85 mm D5T-85BM : fast shooting good pen and good damage gun works fantastic with flanking and picking off enemies

 

​Recommended upgrade path :

You should have everything unlocked from the T-34-85 before you get this tank. But if you do not first the 85 mm then turret and then the top gun and finally the engines

​Recommended equipment : Vents or optics, Gun rammer, and binocs

​Recommended consumables :   repair kit, med kit and multi-kit

 

How to play : Look for weak enemies and take them down. Distract heavies, flank Tds, out shoot mediums. But don't rely on armor rely on your speed and RoF to save you. Also watch the map and help if possible.

 

Overall : Anything slower than you is your prey. Good hunting!

T-43 was great at bouncing shots for me... I believe I have a 73% wr of the 100+ matches (rarely platoon) I played in it.  I love that tank...  also, ANGLE!!!

i thought i recognized that name, hello! 

 

Anyhow; T-43 is one of my favorite tanks in the game! 279 battles with 82% win rate, its a little beast! Strong turret, speedy, well armored, fast and nibble litle thing.

I didn't like the T43 that much because I like a very strong turret like the T62 or the IS 7. Not to be nit picky but I also didn't really like its side profile. It is taller than most Soviet tanks so it was a big change for me

I find the T-43's armor to be quite troll. I know my VK30P can't pen it, but that's a horrible tank anyway. Sometimes even my 107mm T-150 bounces a T-43.

Great review.  I have one question about the equipment.  You recommend vent, optics, rammer which I wholeheartedly agree with but you also suggest binocs.  Why is that?  

 

Given the weak armor but high mobility this is a perfect example of a medium that should never stop moving.  Since Binocs take 3 seconds of stationary to engage it doesn't seem like a good use of the slot

I've been playing the t-43 for the last few days and so far I've been hating it. I have the "bad" gun mounted. Even with a rammer and laying drive it is incredibly slow. Targeting is iffy at best, and waiting for that ring to close on target is just asking for death. With the stock engine I would hardly call it fast. Sure, it gets going, but acceleration and hill climbing isn't what I expected at all. Rather than play it as a fast medium, like the t-34 series tanks, I've been forced to adopt a more heavy tank oriented sneak attack mode. Really, I don't play it much differently than my m103, as sneaky support for a sturdier team member.......even when I am listed as "top tank" on the roster. It's been very frustrating. Can't wait to get rid of it and move on to the later, truly fast tanks.  Perhaps I will remount the little gun until I can move up, or mount the nice turret/gun combo. No pen, but at least I won't die while waiting for that aiming ring to close.

Just wait till you get your T-44... Then you'll be wishing you had your T-43 back!

nah, the T-44 is as just great and powerful. The issue is you will get in the pit more often with IX and X battles...If you are and have a guy with a T-54 or 62 just stick to him and learn. Soviet meds are the bomb.
