So, I'm trying to work with this Ferdinand. I know, everyone hates it, but I wanted to save money and skip the entire German TD line so I grinded the Tiger Porsche, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Question I have is, I'm looking at the stats for the 105mm compared to the 88, and I don't see how it is an upgrade. It drops a tiny bit in pen and drops three rounds per minute, but damage only goes up 90 on average. How is that mathematically an improvement? Let me work this out:

90x3=180

220x2=660

660-180=480

How am I getting a better gun when I am losing 480 damage per minute?

The alpha damage. Imagine having to have enemies sit in front of you to hurt them substantially, or you having to sit in front of them. The 105 lets you peek, put in decent damage, and back away into cover. Also, why did you get the Ferdinand? It's inferior in so many aspects to the JP II. Save yourself from the torture and grind out the JP. This is coming from someone who suffered through 100 battles of the stock engine and 200 pen popgun.

I'm a masochist. No seriously, I tested heavily as one.

Okay for real seriously. As I said, I remembered enjoying the Porsche on PC, so I figured I'd skip the line, thinking the Ferdi would be a big like the AT series. Sadly, it's much worse. Sure, though, still, I've actually had a couple good battles in it. One thing about alpha though is, I'm, as you know, hardly maneuverable. Is it worth it to fire, take time backing up, wait the second that's left, return to the front, aim, fire, repeat? I'm asking sincerely, since you have experience.

Use the 105mm for a more offensive play style. 88mm for a more campy sniping play style.

That's interesting. I definitely prefer offesnive play, so I guess I'll just test them both out when I research it.

Use the 105. Then sell it when you get tired of TDs having no place in Blitz because of map nerfs. :deer:

I like Ferdinand seriously :hiding:

It makes a fairly good sidescraping for a tank Destroyer and it's super structure is pretty trollish if you can manage a hull down spot.

Big gun make red tank go boom. Small gun let red tank rush with no fear.

Let's face it, they don't even know what it will be and even if they do, they'll probably implement it wrong.
