So how much more reliable Steam is than Microsoft Store in keeping Blitz updated?

I have since deleted the Microsoft version and play STEAM 100%.  It is by far the most reliable and supported PC version.

I thought so. Downloading it now from steam. Steam is decent in distributing updates.

Also, Steam has the advantage of being moddable. I recommend Maddoxm's PC gun sounds mod, crew sounds mod, and PC hit sounds mod.

I've been nervous to download or modify my game.  Is it easy to do?

Rule one: always create a backup prior to installing any mods in case one mod conflicts with another one, or crashes the game on startup.

If you follow the instructions provided with the mod, it's easy

It's a simple matter of copy and paste.

And if it doesn't work, you can always reinstall.

That was going to be my last question.  If I download and install it, and I hate it, can I go back to the original by just uninstalling and reinstalling the program?

or by creating a backup of the folders the mod would edit and to uninstall is to delete modded folder(s) and copy the backup back into the correct locations. Quicker than reinstalling

Yep. That will wipe everything clean, and it's less messy than doing a backup.

No, you can right click on the game and got to properties, look for the Validate Game Files  button, it knows what mods you installed and replaces it with the standard ones.
