I am trying to get to a tier 8 or 7 as fast as I can! But I can't get credits quickly (even with an AMX CDC) I don't want to use gold. I either need an ace in the hole tank for grinding credits or tips on how to get more credits per battle. Can anyone help?

Deal more damage. The CDC is a half decent credit grinder, fast so it won't get boring, ok credit coefficient (175%), and cheap ammo with ok pen.

 

Other than dealing more damage, using fewer consumables/provisions, and buying premium time, there's not a whole lot more you can do to speed up credit grinding

Don't use provisions, and camo. Use as little premium ammo as possible. Conserve your hp, and you should be able to make a profit.

This. And go cheap skate on the resuppliable stuff like camo, provisions, consumables, prammo. Look at the credits details page after battles and see where your credits are being spent.

Don´t go fast. It´s useless. If you go fast to Tier 8, you will need to go back to Tier 4 or 5. Stay in lower Tiers till you get the skills to go up.

What's the hurry, slow down and enjoy the ride.

 

Get yourself a Pz V/IV, Pz III/IV or a SU 85i. These tanks are the credit grinders at your level. You can get your new tank, equipment and ammo loadout in a few hours as long as you don't play like a fool.

Yeah, the thing looks flaming ridiculous with the stupid cartoon on the side...  and the absurdity of the tank is compounded by having to travel in reverse all the time....  but it's a credit-grinding machine.  

 

Good gun, decent mobility (reverse ain't that bad once you get used to it), and aside from next-to-nothing for armor it holds its own quite well even in tier V/VI matches.  Awesome little sniper in my opinion.

 

The premium tanks just seem to produce better in terms of credits generally.

 

As for the rush to tier 8....  read a few of the threads here and you'll likely get the picture that the upper tiers are wanting and needing a more well-experienced and better-skilled player base, and that's exactly what the lower tiers are intended to produce...  by that I mean this:  Winning is more fun than losing.  The difference between the winning team and the losing team in any match often comes down to the collective skill and experience of each respective team.  If winning is more fun than losing, set yourself (and your teammates) up for success by more thoroughly developing your skills in the lower tiers first...  become the tanker that is carrying his team regularly in say tier 4 before you make the move to tier 5, and so on....  that's just my thoughts on the issue.  

 

Winning is fun.  

Carrying is satisfying.  

Losing sucks.  

Not contributing to your teams success is worthless.

My battles today have mostly been tier IX so I can barely pen any of the enemy tanks!

I hang around in tier VI where nearly every game brings in silver and I periodically run my Angry Connor. That thing prints sliver like it's going out of style.

This. Good gameplay doesn't want yet another newbie in the high tiers that is just learning the game. You will be (and probably already are) a drag on your teams above tier 4.

Given the choice between a CDC parked side by side a IS-3 I'll always shoot the CDC because it has 0 armor and can cause havoc  by flanking the team.

I know the feeling.  When this happens, I'm willing to bet you that you are either the only one spotted or one of a few only spotted.  Red will go to the red blip like moths to light.  If they are able to over-run you, you made a tactical error.  See DMG's recent post on getting better.  I'm guilty of this at times.  Especially in slow tanks. 

 

For credits (non-premium), I recommend the T-34-85 or the Pz III/IV.  The toaster is actually a good credit earner... but oh so painful.
